for those who have done this event is it worth it as far as crowds are concerned. are the attractions basically walk on or does disney sell too many tickets to this event that there are substantial wait times

When we were there last year, it was deserted. We didn't even have to get off rides -- just rode them over and over again. And we have great pics of just us in front of the castle. We loved it so much we're flying down for a short trip in January just to do it again!

There's an "official" thread on the board with lots of info if you want to search for it and learn more.

Holy cow is this crazy. It use to be called E-Ride night. All the big E-rides and others were open. It was limited to 1,000 people and it was only $10. Rare character appearances. Now they are charging $120 for it?

If I had the extra money I would do it!

I don't know about the After Hours ticketed event, but the evening magic hours (12 midnight - 2am) at the Magic Kingdom were totally worth it. Many of the rides were little to no wait. My boys went on Buzz Lightyear about a dozen times in the very last hour of the evening magic hours (trying to beat each other's scores, of course). The After Hours will probably be little to no wait. Most people are too tired to stay up that late, which is the advantage.
