We will not have a park ticket on Saturday May 1, 2021 - our last day in WDW
Per the websites I found - that Saturday is scheduled to be Wall-to Wall guests visiting WDW Parks.

So what about the Disney After Dark ticket ?
The rides on the in MK seem great for us

Is the $129 per ticket worth the money ?

How many guests are allowed in MK for the Disney After Dark ticket ?
25% of the park capacity ?
50% of the park capacity?
75% of the park capacity ?

How competitive is it get the Disney After Dark Magic Kingdom ticket ?
Is it like trying to get an ADR for Cindy's breakfast at 7:30 AM ?

Do you acquire a Disney After Dark ticket for MK at the 180 day mark ?

Thank you

What websites are giving you crowd info for a year from now? No one has any idea what the parks will look like next month, let alone next year at this time.

Disney After Hours is only done on certain nights - there's no way to know now if it'll be happening on May 1, 2021.

It was for us.

We got ours at City Hall in MK the day before, so no, definitely not competitive.

I think once COVID-19 is over and there is a vaccine - I read one is being tested on 500 people and another 500 people get a placebo = The Parks will start to fully reopen to all who have proof of the vaccine.
We have health insurance, my DH is still employed via SKYPE. So we will get the vaccine once it becomes available to the public, maybe by January 2021.

So I think WDW will get lots of guests visiting the Parks and will be able to recoup some of it's losses.
That bring said - I bet WDW will be busy in 2021 - with the 50th anniversary, at least by summer 2021 :)

I am glad you were able to get the tickets the day before.
I will monitor the tickets - maybe with the Disney web page pop up talk to a cast member
I did ask the cast member if it is available that night May 1, 2021 and she said YES !

So how busy was MK when toy went on the Disney After Dark ?
Could you walk on rides?
10 minute waits for rides?

Any food available ?

It's not just the vaccine though - millions of people are taking a huge financial hit right now and won't be able to afford a vacation for a long time.

Phone and chat CMs notoriously give bad information. Most people on this board advise against listening to them most of the time.

The park wasn't crowded at all - everything was a walk on except Mine Train and Peter Pan, and maybe Space Mountain.

There's free ice cream, popcorn, and drinks from the snack carts. I'm not sure if there are any restaurants open - we ate before. I wouldn't waste any of those very expensive three hours eating, other than grabbing a snack and eating while you walk.

I am hoping MK will be available May 1, 2021 - I do not want to do another park.
DH said we could pack, use the pool, and go to Disney Springs on our last day, if it is not available,

On Space Mountain, there was no line but they wouldn't let us stay on the ride. But we didn't have to exit and walk all the way back - instead they showed us a "secret passage" that looped us from the end of the ride to the loading area. In general, you spent more time walking to the next ride than waiting in line.

I really enjoyed it but wouldn't have done it if I had morning plans the next day. I liked grabbing a couple of included ice cream sandwiches but not a lot of food options, no.

After Hours in MK is not traditionally held on Saturday nights and no dates have been released past May 25, 2020 as of now. Last year, they started adding May 2020 dates in November, so I would keep an eye out in November of this year to see if they release dates for May 2021.

I talked to DH - if no After Hours in MK on a Saturday - then we will sleep in, pack, use the resort pool - go to Disney Springs - maybe do a special dinner like Artist Point or somewhere is Disney Springs
We leave the resort on DME about 11:30 AM to MCO - our flight leaves about 2:30 PM

This is the MK After Hours thread. You can get an idea of past dates & reviews of the event. That Chat CM really had no more information on AH events in May 2021 than you did. I have no idea why they would have told you there is an event that day. Shortly after events are released, you will be able to see the dates & book online. I’m pretty sure Disney will see how things shake out when the parks open up before they make any decision on future park hours & special events.
