We are currently sitting in the cancer ward at an area hospital. My 37 year old husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer that has spread to his back and abdomen. He is almost done with his 3rd dose of chemo. We are doing a 3 days on 4 days off for 12 weeks. We have been going to "our happy place" during chemo, and we are talking about returning to WDW. He should be done with chemo by the 2nd week of Nov. We are thinking about coming down at the end of Jan. for 5 nights.

Has anyone experienced this? What precautions would you suggest we take? Is it too soon after chemo? Let me know what you think!!

Thanks!!!

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

He will probably still be a bit on the weak side. Go at his pace and very strongly consider renting an ECV for the the trip. This will help keep him from wearing himself out.

If there are sun sensitivities involved he may need a Guest Assistance Card. You might want to look at the disABILITIES FAQs for some other information.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

No words of wisdom to offer except to take things at DH's pace and probably renting an ECV for use when in the parks.

Hope things go well with the rest of the chemo :grouphug:
