With all the updates at D23 this weekend, it is time we start a thread for all the updates and changes coming to the Studios. Which will be renamed to Disney Adventure World!

New areas:
  • Marvel area (finished)
  • Frozen (open in 2026)
  • World of Pixar (partial refurbishment due to the new lake)
  • Lion King (no opening date yet)
There will be a new evening show over the lake.

Studio 1 updates & Toy Story refurbishment
Besides the major overhaul of the studios into Disney Adventure World, there are more areas being refurbished at the moment or will be refurbished.

New entrance for Toy Story Land
Due to the new lake, there will be an entrance with Woody and Jessie !
In some articles this is to be called World of Pixar.

Restaurant en Coulisse to be renamed as Hollywood Gardens

The new name for the restaurant in the Studios (Adventure World) has been reveiled. We have also some concept art:

Lion King Area

What is it?
At D23 on August 10th, 2024 it was announced that the 3rd new land in the Disney Adventure World will be Lion King themed.
There will be dining options, shops, meet & greet area and at least one ride.
Based on the concept art, it looks like it will be a copy of Splash Mountain / Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

Is there an opening date?
Nothing is announced yet, but as World of Frozen is announced to open in 2026, I would guess it will open either later in 2026, 2027 or maybe even 2028.

Nout sure what this is, but my guess is a Timon / Pumbaa jungle area with bugs. Possible meet & greet area?

Evening show

There will be a new evening show over/on the lake in Disney Adventure World.
Most likely this will be shown every evening. It will have waterscreens, fountains, drones and water drones.

Other updates

Rapunzel ride

There will be a new ride Rapunzel Tangled Spin. Which is basically a teacup rides. This will open in 2026.

Regal View restaurant
On the way to the World of Frozen you will pass a restaurant, called Regal View.
Most likely this restaurant will have a view of the lake, and probably it will sell special dinners to watch the new evening show while dining.

In the video in the first post (from DLP Reports), it is shown that it will have a Dutch vibe. The imagineers went to Delft in the Netherlands to get some Delft Blue pottery. :)

Other areas
Among the concept art was also this area with Peter Pan and Mary Poppins influences.

The concept art/plans look great. Looking forward to the Lion King based ride. The Studios always had the potential but lacked funding. Glad to see WDW company are investing lots into the parks over the next decade.

I'm so happy DLP it's getting lots of love! After all of this is finished, the second park is going to get much more popular

Looking at how fast construction is progressing on YouTube, I was hoping it would open ( or partially open ) next year as planning on a May trip. Oh well.

I was surprised World of Frozen is not opening until 2026. This area has taken far too long from announcement.

Lion King area is good announcement - highly overdue for DLP to get it's Splash Mountain type ride. However wish they were doing more in the area. I am not keen on the trend of opening big new immersive lands for just one attraction. Adventure World is going to need a lot more than this

The Tangled Area is cute and nothing wrong in creating charming and whimsical spaces.

The big thing for me is that there really should be at least three big lands around that lake. I'm hoping another is yet to be announced.

As for Star Wars, this absolutely needs a presence in Paris. I'm hoping they are going to extend out the back of Discoveryland and create an area for Star Wars and base it on the Original Trilogy. This will give DLP a unique must see here experience whilst giving the main park something new at last.

I am a Disney fan (honestly!) but the speed of new experiences is far inferior to other good quality European parks. They get a lot of slack from the general visitors who feel it is a must do because it has Disney in the name.

Hopefully the new Universal resort in the UK goes ahead and gives real competition on where a family would like to take their short break.
