To anyone who has taken a 2 mo. old to Disney. We will be there in July.

How often did you need to take breaks? Did they go in a stroller or did they have to be carried? What rides did you take them on?

Also any other advice would be appreciated on a 2 mo. old at Disney, especially in July.

Thanks

I haven't been there with a 2 month old, but I did take my son when he was 6 months old. I was surprised at how easy things were. We brought our own stroller-a nice one where he could sleep-not an umbrella. He just napped in the stroller. You have to bring your own stroller because a baby that age can't use the rental strollers. We were staying off site with extended family. Because we got a late start to the parks, we ended up staying most of the day. I had planned on taking the baby back to the hotel, but since he slept so well in the stroller I never did. The baby and I, or dad, did take more breaks since baby couldn't go on things that his cousins went on.

The only rides I remember taking the baby on were Small World and some stuff at Epcot, like Illuminations. My husband took him on some other things like Pooh's Adventures, but really the baby just liked walking around and seeing all the people and things.

We also brought a baby bjorn (front carrier) for a change of pace. We went in December. In July I would be most concerned about the heat and dehydration. I would recommend that you ask your pediatrician about this. My dr. told us to make sure that we used bottled or boiled water for the formula, but not to give the baby any plain water (he was underweight). The only real problem with the trip was that the baby had an ear infection and the flying made that miserable for him. Are you flying? If so, make sure baby is nursing, or has a bottle/pacifier, during take-off and landing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips swilphil.

Yes, we are flying and hopefully he can nurse during take offs. He's my nephew, but I'm passing this info on to my sister. He'll actually be 3 months old when we're there. She has a snuggly front carrier for him, so I'll tell her to make sure she packs it. We plan on taking lots of breaks for the little guy, so hopefully it will all work out.

We went with our first son at 7 weeks, and with our second son at 4 weeks. Those were the easiest trips we ever had!! All we had to do was make sure to feed and change. We now have a 7yr. and 4 yr. old- now it is non stop arguing, everybody has an opinion etc... We used a stroller- baby slept most of the time, and so many of the rides are simple the baby can go with you on many. Enjoy going with the baby- it is alot easier than most people could even imagine. Have fun-

Make sure your nephew nurses during landing too, actually when the plane starts losing altitude. My pediatrician told me the descent is more painful than the take-off. I was surprised at how soon we started losing altitude. It was about 30 min. before we actually landed. It was a night flight, and we were all sleeping. I knew we were going down, because all the babies on the flight were crying. If that doesn't happen, he definitely should start nursing when the seatbelt light is turned back on.

Happy travels!
