I just think it is ridiculous that Disney does not have an 800 number for room reservations. I spent 30 minutes yesterday trying to work out a package and today I have to call back. At this rate my cell phone minutes will run out before the end of the month :( Has anyone been able to contact Disney at an 800 number? I asked and the CM said no but that is just hard to believe!!

Disney Club members has a 800#,but it is for Disney Club members only.

I am a club member but didn't realize that you could use that number for ressie's. thanks!

If Disney had a public 1-800 number for CRO or WDTC reservations it would be even harder to get through. Then there would be a zillion people calling back for any minute reason and holding up the lines because it wasn't on their dime.

I guess you have a point there epcotfan it is very hard to get through.

Maybe I should be complaining about the CM not knowing how to book the new package being offered by Visa. 30 minutes is just too long to get a price. I really wanted to compare two resorts but getting the price for one took so long I didn't want to confuse her......

I doubt it. If Disney had an automated system, and if they answered the public's questions in an efficient, modern manner, it could be MUCH EASIER to conduct business without being on hold half the morning. To imagine Disney does not have a public 1-800 number for our benefit is wacko, in my opinion. ::yes:: :wave2:

LOL, I do understand what you are saying, but, when they used to have one, kids would call to speak with Mickey and all sorts of fun things like when do the parks close, what time is the 3:00 parade, etc. I guess Disney does enough business without a toll free number. Unfortunately, they do cost money and who would it be passed onto? Us, and do we really want to spend money on some kid calling to speak to Mickey? They now have prompts which angers some people. I think for Disney, it is a no win situation.

I respect your historical perspective, Gail. I don't agree "Disney does enough business without a toll free number." If that were so, the thousands of layoffs and the continuing park cutbacks would not have been needed. A no win situation indicates the wrong game is being played, in my opinion. :Pinkbounc I'm sure there are some very smart people paid big money by Disney to improve the corporation's top and bottom lines. I doubt they read this forum for advice. But if they did, I'd say to them, think outside the box; and if you can't win, we lose. ::yes:: In other words, Gail, we're all on the same side. ::MickeyMo

Same side, you bet!!!

This topic is funny to me because I just asked the reservation center the same thing last night. His reason: They did have an 800 number and were getting bombarded with calls such as "what's the weather going to be like?". It is frustrating especially since I was on hold for about 20 min. last night.:(
