Disney 2013 Disney Dining!

I am currently pricing up our Honeymoon for Sept 2013. Usually we go with Travel City Direct but have also priced up with Virgin (I know Virgin own TCD and TCD are sometimes cheaper but Virgin do have a few more resorts to offer). We want to stay on Disney property and do the Disney Dining Plan, both things we haven't done before.
I have heard that some places do offer Disney Dining Plan throughout the year. Does anyone know when this usually is? Also, is the deluxe disney dining plan at a reduced price then?

The Free Dining offer for 2013 will be released in a few weeks.

Whilst we don't know the specifics of this years offer other that the dates (Sept will be included) in past years if you booked a deluxe resort you got the DDP free and could upgrade to the DxDP for just the difference in price.

There was no free DP at values and the mods had the QSDP but to upgrade to the DxDP there was reports it was full price - I don't have personal experience of that though.

Virgin have confirmed that they will not be offering the Disney Dining Plan for free during 2013. You may wish to consider contacting Complete Orlando as they are offering it free for 2013 but you cannot book until early April (only a few weeks away now....). They will be able to confirm costs though for accomodation. Not sure if you have decided where you are going to stay but I would recommend the Beach Club. We stayed there in August and it was out do this world. We are looking to go again next year. Whatever you decide, have fun & happy planning!

We were planning on going in July 2013 with Virgin. I thought free dining was offered if Disney had it as an offer?

TBH free dining was the only way we could manage it next year.

So is there definately no free dining next year?

Virgin will be offering Disney Dining.

We spoke to them a few weeks ago and they confirmed that at that point in time they wouldn't offer the free Disney Dining Plan as Disney hadn't confirmed the offer yet.

However, when Disney release it, Virgin said they will offer it too.

We booked this Jan to travel in September this year with Virgin and got th free dining. We are staying at the POR so have the QSDP as standard, I enquired about upgrading to the DDP or the DxDP and the price was the full price, as if you were paying for it off the rack.

Ironically our travel agent offered to tinker around with booking to see if the price difference equated to the cost difference in upgrading to a delux resort, and there was only about £300 of a price difference between upgrading the dining only and upgrading the entire resort!!

We stuck to the POR with QSDP, as we figured originally we'd have to pay for food anyway, so the free dining is a definiate bonus but wont limit us to eating only at CS locations.

Just as another option we booked last year for Old Key West with room discount and free dinning plan. It worked out great for us. we had a lovely studio room with nice little kitchenette area.

This year we booked the same resort but have upgraded to the 1 bedroom option. Still with the dinning plan.

If Disney off the same deal again for next year we will no doubt be taking advantage of the offer.

I have been running dummy bookings on Disney's own site to see if its on offer yet and for the dates we would want next year Old Key West and Saratoga springs are not an option whereas all the rest of the resorts are. I am not sure if that means anything or not but it could be a good omen for the offer for next year.

Hi Beth and really unsure about that as that would mean that any OKW or SSR offers for say a stay during October 2013 won't become available to the general public until November 2012.

Hopefully they will be available a lot sooner than that.

I think Disney holds back for their own use a small percentage of the accommodation in their DVC Resorts, so they might sell 95% of the accommodation to DVC members and the small percentage they own can be used at any time for offers, but not too sure on that!

It should be on or around 1st April. Hoping to see 30-40% and free DDP at OKW and SSR

Just heard VH have said they will release next years free DDP offers on 10th April.
