We are thinking about taking a trip to Disney 2 months after having a hip replacement. Would this be crazy? We would have a GAC for my DS would probably go to the parks 2 or 3 days and would stay 5 nights. We take breaks for pool time and take breaks when we need them. We rent a car and I will have a temporary handicap parking permit. Thanks, Linda :)

I personally think you would be pushing it going that soon after a hip replacement. I had my hip replacement in April and went to disney in Mid August. I walked with my cane while at Disney and found I could do everything with lots of breaks, but it was quite exhausting.

Only suggestion I would also make is dont go on tower of terror. After I had my second hip replacement (same hip). I would have my DS go on the rides before me to judge which ones would not be the best for me. Tower of Terror was the only ride he advised to stay off of. I have since had the same hip replaced and that is still the only ride I will not due, while I am at disney. If you need any more info, just let me know.

I have walked around disney many times with hip pain and a cane due to the arthritis, but this would be my first hip replacement I don't want to have any set backs if I do to much too soon. Linda :)

Believe me, I totally understand what you are saying, I have done the same. If you can, I would really suggest waiting that extra month. I was actually only allowed to return to work full time about 2 1/2 months after my surgery. If your not totally sure what to do, double check with your surgeon before you go.

Thanks for the advice I guess it was just wishful thinking on my part, thanks for the dose of reality I'll have to set my sites on a later trip back to drawing board. Linda :goodvibes
