One of my co-workers just had a birthday, and we gave her a tiara....I should have taken the time to steal it from her and get a picture!!!

It is really funny about the tiaras. When I was 15 I was choosen to be the Queen of a baseball team. Yeah, it is really kinda corny. But, I kept that tiara for YEARS. It got lost, somehow, in a move. I loved that thing. I have to try and dig up some of those old pictures.

About the dessert party. For a sales person to call you back you have to be staying on-site. Which I'm not. You don't have to be on-site to participate. Just to arrange. Sorry guys. If anyone on-site wants to get the info the number to call is 407-828-3200. If not we can just all grab a drink and a dessert and pick a spot.

Thanks, Myst. The Renfroes will be having dinner at Ohana that evening, and we will do our best to get back with everyone for Illuminations. Therefore, picking a spot works best for us.

Fantastic! I've ordered a shirt; it should be here in about a week or so. (Actually, over the weekend I went to the Disney outlet store in Orlando and picked up a few shirts, including a lime green Disney 2008 shirt, but when I saw that I could get the official shirt, of course I had to get it!) And thanks for the pic, now I should be able to recognize at least two people (just in case the bright green glow isn't enough of a giveaway)...

This will be my first time staying at Boardwalk, but from what I understand, it's walking distance from Epcot. So, just in case I have a few too many slushies (not that that would ever happen, mind you), I should be able to stumble my way back to my room. Or to Jellyrolls, whichever I find first.

I've been to Epcot many times, but never noticed the slushie options in France... thanks for bringing this to my attention! I was getting a bit tired of the Margaritas in Mexico and the Sake in Japan anyway... always nice to have more options... And I'm guessing that Impressions de France is even more spectacular after a Tasty Adult Beverage...

I'm really looking forward to this weekend! It looks like this is a really great group of people, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!!!

Hi JohnEric! How cool that you ordered an "official" meet shirt! Sorry you missed out on the initial order, but the online store tee should be pretty much the same thing.

For variety, you will LOVE the Grand Marnier slushie! And yes, if you have a few too many, you can walk back to the Boardwalk. (We've never stayed at the Boardwalk, but it is my dream resort.)

Hmmm... looks like the minimum venue charge would be $275, plus $22 per person for the desserts, with 20 persons minimum (assuming it's the same as the wedding rates, and I suspect that you are correct, it probably is). If that's the case, I'm a little leery of setting that up... I believe we can each purchase quite a bit of dessert with $35 or so...

Well, that being the case, I'd rather spend my $35 on additional Tasty Adult Beverages. My theory is, the more slushies which one consumes, the better the view becomes anyway. Not only are the fireworks better, but the surrounding people become far more interesting and also attractive.

Anyway, the views from Epcot are all pretty good; especially from the top of Japan, or Mexico, both of which would be free. As wonderful as the separate dessert event would be, I think I would like to pass on this one.

If people would still like to go, though, I'd be happy to coordinate if needed.

Anyone else that will have people on scooters or in wheelchairs? I'm happy to meet up again to watch illuminations but my mom will have a scooter. We usually watch from wheelchair viewing at the start of world showcase. It's a good spot and there is lots of regular viewing right beside it between the 2 gift shops. I'm open to suggestions though.

eta: oh I forgot to add. Since Alan has been gone another couple of days I think he needs to wear lime green flip flops to go with the tiara, thong earrings, and tutu.

I too am open to suggestions !! While I don't drink alcohol , may have said it is good that I don't a I am quite cuckoo enuff without it !!The last time I went with the family we watched from near a gift shop too and it was a good view ! Does anyone else have ressies at Teppon Edo that evening !!????? Mne are for 6:15 which will give me plenty of time to make Illuminations !!

I am just hoping we can make it back over to Epcot from Ohana to see Illuminations.

Just found out that I will be dining at California Grill that evening anyway, so I may not be available for IllumiNations.

I think the wheelchair spot there is one of the best; my stepfather always used a scooter, and I appreciate how Disney does their best to accommodate people with special needs.

As far as Alan's clothing requirements are concerned, I think I will withhold judgement on that matter until I meet him.

It is one of the best spots and you're right they are at the top accomodating special needs. My mom doesn't like to have to use the scooter but she always says it's ok at Disney. Nobody makes her feel disabled.

As far as Alan's clothing I think it's been a girl thing in deciding what it will be. Not like it's really going to happen anyway but we are having a blast with him in the meantime so feel free to put in your 2 cents.

I heard back from the concierge about the photographer! Here's a copy of what was just emailed to me from Melissa-

Hello Melissa! I think we can definitely be available to capture some
great photos of these guests! We can have a photographer meet the group
in France at 3:00 and spend 30 minutes getting a series of photos
including a group shot. We can put all the photos on one Photopass Card
and give it to the group leader in case she wants to purchase a CD of
all the images or email the link to the rest of the group.

I'm copying Justin Dyal on this message as he will be the point of
contact. Please send him a note a week before the event to confirm the
details. Hopefully the group will have a great time!!

That's great about the photopass. I am also in a photopass share with Rosie. Whoever ends up getting the pictures on their card will just have to send a copy of the pictures to everybody or I guess just post them all here on this thread and people can save whichever ones they like to their computers.

Can you imagine what our trip reports are going to be like? Everyone on the DIS who reads the trip reports are going to be like..."aww...we missed out on the greatest meet ever!"

I think the tag fairy might have seasonal disorder. All the cold on those wings and all. It's almost summer let's hope he/she will be out soon!!

Rosie..I see now you live in Niagara Falls NY. We will passing through there to Toronto mnay times in the future to visit my family. Next will be July but it's only a few day trip. Unles you want to come to Toronto. In September we plan on a night or two in Niagara falls on the Ontario side. Just sayin' You have a passport right?

That is so cool that we'll have our own photopass photog. Guess I'll acutally have to get a card this time and look online afterwards. Crazy enough but I've never used them before.

K, get it for September. One of the other ladies on the tiara thread lives in Buffalo. Before you know it we could have a Niagara Falls meet going on.

So I may have more people for the May meet. I spoke to my mother briefly but the connection was bad and we were both out. She said something about the friends my nephew has in Tampa thinking the meet would be fun. That's about what I got. These are all guys in their early 20's. Either we are all cooler than we think or they just want to point and laugh.

I have a 20 year old nephew that I love dearly (and he loves me too as I am his only aunt) but I am quite sure that if he was coming, it would be to laugh his fool head off and not to see how cool we are Unless of course, I was paying him huge sums of money not to (and even then he couldn't be trusted not to snicker a time or to when I wasn't looking ) knowing full well he could run at a slow pace and I couldn't catch him!

Oh, he will love it! He'll be like, "who is that weird dude with the tutu and the tiara? You say he's from Alabama? really?"
