Happy Birthday Avery!!

Congrats Bob & Renee!! That is wonderful news! I'm glad that most of Dana's homework is done too.

Well, I took Amanda to the dr today and he confirmed the chicken pox. I was wrong she had not had the booster but Alyssa has so he said that there is only a 5% chance that she will get it too. I emailed all of Amanda's teachers and they were all very nice and said no problem about the tests they hope she feels better and she can take the tests when she gets back to school.

Oh, good. Glad to hear Amanda's teachers were understanding. I have to say, I love the invention of "email"! :surfweb: It's so much easier to be in contact with people like teachers, etc. When Dana's bus was tremendously late those first days of school, I was able to have a very nice exchange with her Biology teacher - all without having to bother him on the phone. :thumbsup2

Renee', I talked to the nurse today. Looks like all the paperwork is in and now we are just waiting to find a time that works for the team (two doctors and their nurses, etc). Sounds like it will be either late October or November. I just hope Michael isn't sick. And that we are not in St. Louis for Halloween or Thanksgiving. We have spent two Halloween's in the hospital already and one Thanksgiving and we got out of the hospital the day before Thanksgiving last year. Michael is so excited about Halloween this year so I hope he gets to enjoy it but I really want this surgery done this month. But I have no choice so its all about to them. *sigh* Anyways, I should hopefully know by the end of the week.

Email is wonderful when communicating with teachers! I was able to send one big email and then got separate replies from everyone.

Wendy - I'm glad things are on track for Michael's surgery. Hopefully it will be after Halloween and he will be well! Please keep us posted!

I just want to pop in and say I love this thread. We met a bunch on a cruise in 2002 and continue daily posting. We consider ourselves family. Love that there is more of us around! Back in the days, a thread could only have so many pages before a new one had to be started. We are now on our third thread with no worry about having it closed.

Sorry.....back to your thread.

Hi!! Thanks for dropping in to say hello. We really have fun on this thread and I'm sure you do on yours too. Drop by anytime!!

Received Dana's 1st Quater Progress Report today - I am SO proud of her! For a kid who has to WORK for her grades, she did great for her first 1/2 quarter of high school. :thumbsup2 Let's just hope she keeps up the good work! ;)

Hi everyone. Glad to see everyone is still here. I'll try to make more of an effort keeping in touch. We have had a very hectic school year so far. It's Luke's first year of Middle School and he had a rocky start with us having to put him on meds for his ADHD for the first time. His grades were bad at first, but he has managed to bring them up(with me on his back constanlty)!:scared: I have missed you guys. I really don't get on the DIS much when I am not planning a trip, but we will soon begin the planning process for our May Land/Sea adventure!!!!!:cheer2: Take care everyone and Wendy, I'll keep Michael and all of you in our prayers. And, Renee tell Bob congratulations for us!

Good to hear from you, Laura! It's crazy trying to keep up with the kids' school schedules as they get older! Dana went to the "Coffee House" tonight for the Performing Arts Club - she is LOVING high school! It gave Bob & I 3 hours to have a lovely dinner and then walk to the coffee/dessert shop nearby to celebrate our 21st anniversary and his promotion. Dana's high school is two towns over - and we just love the "small town main street" they have.

Land/Sea sounds fun in May!! Right now we are scheduled for Rocking Horse Ranch in the Catskills for three nights Christmas week and talking about Ft Lauderdale for Easter break. I know - Spring Break in Ft Lauderdale sounds NUTS, but we are looking at the Marriott Harbor Beach - which has it's own private beach and it looks heavenly. We'll see if it works out. Still not sure what we will be doing for summer vacation. :cool2:

Hugs to all!
Renee

Hey guys, I'm checking in. We're at the Marriott in Knoxville right now. I'll be home Sunday. The Civil Ceremony went beautiful Wednesday. Let's see what else. Hmm oh yeah Fall Break Monday and Tuesday. :cool1: Mom and Dad leave Thursday and come home the 23rd. I'll try and get the pictures up soon. Our room overlooks the river and it's beautiful and I got the tar scared of me out tonight when fireworks went off.

Oh and my nephew and his wife found out what they are having and it's a baby boy.

Hello stalkers!:goodvibes I haven't been on here in awhile. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a great week.:)

I just had to drop in to say Hi!!! Sorry I haven't kept in touch, but I have missed chatting with all of you. Since August I have been so busy that I haven't had time to even get on the computer. I also took the kids to see their dad, so it has just been hectic. I hope to get on more often now that things are calming down.

I have just about all my boxes unpacked from moving in July. It is such a big job. I am also homeschooling and that takes time and top priority. The boys also were in baseball which is now over and are almost done with soccer. Even the twins are playing soccer. The one good thing is that the stress level for all of us has gone down so much now that I am homeschooling them.

I hope all of you are doing good and that you all have a great week!!!

WOW! Homeschooling everyone! That's QUITE an undertaking! Good luck to you! :teacher:

Been throwing around a lot of different trip options lately -
Anyone been to Fort Lauderdale during Spring Break? Is it insanely crazy?
Found a gorgeous Marriott Harbor Beach resort, private beach, and thought about going for a few nights Easter week... I called to ask how "crazy" it gets, and the manager said that the room rates are too high for the "college scene", so they aren't around the hotel at all and they do put extra security on the private beach so no one but hotel guests can use it. :beach:

It's just so hard to plan things with school schedules - there is NO WAY we could pull Dana out of school, so we have to use the school vacations.

::MinnieMo Last night we started throwing around the idea of returning to WDW and the Dolphin for a 3-peat this June when school lets out. If we go, we would REALLY not do everything this time. lol We would sleep in, tour only what our FAVORITES were, and relax. (yeah, right.. )

Only problem is that if you have to leave the hotel for ANYTHING you will be dealing with them. Shopping, dinner, etc. I think I would either go to a less popular beach, or wait and go another time of year.

Hi CK! Sorry you had trouble with your son in school. We go through the same thing with Tucker every year. He takes meds for ADD, and it takes us several weeks to get him adjusted each year. When we get his level right, his life is so much easier... he can get his work accomplished, listen and follow directions without me having to stay on him, etc. Otherwise, we all get frustrated to the point of meltdown.

I am now seriously contemplating killing Wynn! :furious: Coming home from Savannah last weekend, we stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat supper with the in-laws. Both kids are asking for a "prize" from the gift shop, and we say no because Christmas is coming, and because we just dropped $400 for the weekend. MIL goes behind my back and buys something for Tucker, but not Avery. I was TICKED OFF!! So I vent and blow off steam, and get over it. MIL just comes by my house, and tells me that Wynn told her last night that I was ticked at her. :scared1: What's wrong with him??? Doesn't he get that if I wanted to tell her... I would have? Also, he was upset, too. Did he tell her THAT?? NO!!!

How in HEAVEN'S NAME do you buy something for one and not the other?!?! :confused3 :sad2:

Of course, she should have respected your initial wish of "no prizes right now", but even if she had the GRANDMA URGE, it is beyond me how you could buy something for one child and not the other!!

And Wynn deserves a wack with a wet noodle, too! He should not have made YOU out to be the "baddie" in this. grrrr...

I booked it today. lol
The resort is right on the beach, lots of restaurants, a beautiful pool, and only 5 miles from the airport. Since we are only going for 4 nights, I don't think we will be venturing out.

I also tentitively booked the Dolphin for June. :cool2: Bob's employee rate wasn't showing up yet on their computers, so I have a rate of $209 a night until that information becomes available. I can cancel that up to a week before. I will cancel this if I get my act together and plan a San Francisco trip for June instead. :goodvibes

Not sure why, but I was very much in "trip mode" today! :cool2: Maybe because my parents are leaving for Aruba tomorrow! It is a location my dad has been dreaming about for YEARS! I hope it is everything they have hoped it will be. They deserve a nice trip - they need some down time - they are always worrying about my sister's ill daughter. :sad1:

I wanted to stop in & say Hi too. Life has been crazy busy. We're still out of the house & living at my SIL during the week and my sister on the weekends.

About a month ago my hard drive crashed:sad2: I lost everything including the 300+ pictures of our last Disney trip:sad1: I'm still upset about it.

Hi Joyce! Go to your photobucket acct and retreive the pics you uploaded to share. It won't get all of them back... but you probably shared your favorites.
