Yes those last few days were a killer for us. I couldnt stop sweating. We went to Epcot on Saturday got there when opened. We walked right up to Soarin, and it wasnt a total walk on, but we waited around 10 minutes total. It was cool, it was my first time on it.I even did the tame side of Mission Space.
On the way out of Epcot, we ran into the famous DM....I yelled "are you Dawn Marie?" and sure enough it was her. She didnt know who I was as I didnt post any real pictures of myself LOL...I did meet up with the other DIsers at the Epcot meet that night. When my husband downloads the pictures I will post them.

It got bad for us I think on Thursday. Granted Friday we did AK and my mom got soaked, her clothes were still wet when we packed up Saturday night.

I only got to meet Laura and Court.

The 15th through the 20th though I would say it wasn't bad though for the weather.

Thanks Castaway! I'm glad to be here!

Ya know Jackie, it honestly wasn't that hot till the last few days there for us. We usually sweat a bunch and we didn't this year till the last few days.

We covered quite a bit of the parks, heck we walked on Soarin one morning basically.

Same for us... The first few days, I said, "Man, last year at this time we were soaked with sweat (yummo thought, I know)..." And then, for the last few days it was just unbearable. It was SO hot!

I'm crossing my fingers it's like that next year at this time.

The heat didn't bother us, we were always at the park at opening or we used the extra hours. And we would leave the parks about 2 every day and would return about 4 or 5. Hubby likes to commender the computer every day at 3 when he gets home so I don't have but 30 to 45 mins in the afternoon. And maybe 30 mins in the morning after I get up and get some of the housework done before going to work.

I broke my right foot 7 years ago and still feel pain from time to time. Then, 2 years ago, I totally twisted my left ankle when I fell down some cement stairs. My ankle has never recovered... :sad2:

That just gave me a flashback of Wynn breaking his foot. He had a jet ski accident about 4 weeks before my due date with Avery, and broke several of the little bones across the top of his foot. I went into labor 2 weeks early, and he was in a cast and on crutches. I had contractions every 90 seconds by the time we got to the hospital... and had to carry my own suitcase in! :rotfl:

I'm crossing my fingers it's like that next year at this time.

We will not be fellow June stalkers next year. We haven't decided what we are doing yet, but I finally got the kids school schedule straightened out, and their breaks are May, July, and October. May is just to busy, and there is nothing you can do to convince me to go to Florida at the end of July... so we will vacation in early October. I have emailed my AAA travel agent for quotes on cruises (Disney and other cruise lines), and a week in an all-inclusive somewhere. I also asked for a quote for a week at Disney in October... but I'm not telling Wynn about that one yet! He doesn't want to do Disney next year. :sad2: We are also thinking of renting a beach house in Daytona for a week, and doing Sea World and Kennedy Space Center while we are there. I hate making these types of decisions! I would much rather have the vacation date and destination set, and move on to the planning phase! If we do a Disney cruise... I am thinking of doing the land/sea... just to sneak in some park time! :rolleyes1

We also will not fellow June stalkers next year either :(....we are doing a cruise Aug 2008 for 9 nights:thumbsup2 . So it will be 14 months until our next vacation...The driving to Disney this year was way toooooo much for me. The kids drove me crazy:eek: . I think my next Disney trip will be in 2 yrs, with me and my 2 girls only:thumbsup2 We will definitely fly, and certainly stay at a Disney property(Value of course). We will also go off season as well..My husband is not a Disney fan, and my son hates me to take him out of school. My older daughter doesnt care. So Ive got my 2 yr plan set;)

Well I won't do May cause of love bugs and the Flower Festival. July is tour group season. August is just to late. I can't do October, I only have two days. December and March are definately out in my book.

So June is like our only time.

I'm really leaning toward a 7-night western caribbean cruise, and tacking on a day at Sea World at the end, or the 3 land/4 sea cruise with Sea World at the end. I really don't want to do Sea World, but the kids have been begging for quite some time. All the ports of call on the western cruise are places I really want to see, so it is really hard to rule that cruise out. But... I really want to take the kids back to the park for at least a few days. I don't know how affordable cruising will be for my budget, though. The cruise itself is about the same as going to Disney for the week, but once you start tacking on shore excursions and such... It will take a good deal of planning and saving to do it "right."

Jackie... which cruise line are you cruising with? I don't really know anything about cruising, and I am wondering which cruise lines cater towards young families and kids besides Disney. Wynn and I can enjoy everything as long as the kids are happy and entertained. Once they get bored... everybody is miserable!

Kari if you do SeaWorld you must do Seamore and Clyde.

I want to do SeaWorld's waterpark next year, it looks so cool.

Just realized I typed May instead of April for one of our vacation possibilities. Between Easter and spring breaks... uh, NO! Since my kids will be year round next year, they get 3 weeks off in April, October, and January, and 4 weeks in July. Since April and July are automatically out, and I am way too broke in January... that leaves October. I would like to cruise in April, but I don't think I can swing it financially by then. We are hoping to add to the house this fall/winter, and I will be buying a new (to me) car in the next few months... so the timing is just off.

Kari- I do know that Carnival Caters to families as well as Royal Caribbean.
Last summer we did a 7 night cruise on the Carnival Valor..It was over run with kids..The kids programs are wonderful. The programs are grouped by age. They have all kinds of activities. It works out well, so if you want some adult time, you can bring them to the kids programs.

4 yrs ago we did a 4 night cruise on Royal Caribbean, on "Majesty of the seas"Both the cruises left out of Miami.

When we go in Aug 2008(14 long months to wait)it will be a 9 night cruise on Royal Caribbean. This time though we are leaving out of Norfolk VA, which is the next town over from where we live in Va beach. They have a brand new cruise terminal there. It will be nice no more flying out to the cruise.

trying to talk Kevin into doing a Disney Cruise next yr for our 15th annversary.
Still trying to convence him, if we do go it will be without the kids. Just some alone time, in Sept. But will invite one of my younger brothers to jion us. Are even one of his cousins who he likes to hang out with. But it is still in the talking it out phase.

How old are your kids? You know you can get plenty of alone time on a cruise, as they have wonderful supervised children's programs. Some of the programs they will keep your keeps until 2am. I think after a certain time, then they charge you extra for it. But still..its a great way to get some alone time.
I know when we told people we were going on a cruise last summer, a lot of people were suprised we were taking the kids:confused3 . Its funny, when you tell people you are going to Disney, nobody asks you if you are taking the kids. I guess then its just assumed you are going as a family. When you tell people you are taking a cruise, the first question I heard was "Are you taking the kids?"...."Well of course we are taking the kids " LOL....

Sarah and Jackie... what did you think of Comfort Inn? I thought it was OK, but not great. After our incident at Friendly's (see the trip report thread) I was glad for the scurity guard, though. Our bed had a broken spring under my hip... don't even want to think about how that happened. :scared: We layed in bed watching the weather channel that night, then turned it off to go to sleep. The TV keeps making static and popping noises. We think maybe its just cooling off or something. After 5 minutes, we have had enough, and I get up and unplug it... blissful silence! I will say our room was clean and odor free. They did put us on the bottom floor by the parking lot, so we had noise issues starting at 6AM.

Where is your trip report?? I guess I am a little slow.
I had no idea you stayed at the Comfort INN as well? Was it your first night there? The one in Lake Buena Vista?
Well I thought it was OK...not a 5 star hotel..but it was affordable and what we needed. We had the "Family Suite"...which is funny because its basically the same size as a regular room, it had a queen size bed, then there was this wall thing to separate the kids area. That consisted of bunk beds and a single bed and another tv. It was nice that all 3 kids had their own beds, no sharing. We had a room facing the parking lot, so it was quiet. Check in was a pain in the butt... The room wasnt ready at check in at 3pm, at 3:45 talked to the asst Manager, she gives us another room. We trek to the new room, thekeys dont room. We trek back to the front desk, and I am more then mad. She gives us another room where we stayed for 6 nights.
The pools were wonderful, warm and extremely clean. The maid service ,well it was odd. They cleaned the room everyday, beds etc...but they sometimes "forgot" to stock new towels or even replenish the toliet paper. We called down, and they came up immediatly LOL:sad2:
The free buffet was ok, good enough for a free breakfast.
Altough our room was a little outdated, it had a brand new ac unit and a brand new fridge. I checked for bugs under the mattresses when we first arrived, and never found one bug in the room the whole week.
I LOVED the location, it took less then 10 minutes to get to any of the parks, even Universal:thumbsup2
Like I said, it wasnt a 5 star hotel, probably more like 2 stars LOL...but it was affordable, it saved us money on breakfast, kids ate free for dinner at the buffet there. We basically only ate one counter service meal at the parks. We did save a ton of money on food this trip:thumbsup2

I'm doing the group trip report... DISers stalking Disers... our end of June adventures. You can find the link in DMs siggie. I only did the first day so far, since no one is hardly home to post yet. Funny you mentioned the AC unit... ours was horridly loud. The first time it kicked on I nearly flew out of the bed! :rotfl: It was the Palm Pkwy one, and we stayed there Sat night, then checked in at the resort on Sunday AM. We didn't do the breakfast, as we had a character breakfast scheduled for our first AM.

Maggie... I don't think I would do a Disney cruise without the kiddos. If going on my own, I would probably go with the more adult cruise lines... Celebrity maybe? I think being surrounded by kids when I finally got away from mine would keep me from relaxing. But... never having cruised... I could be totally wrong! :confused3

Mandy... love your pics! Had I known your room was there, I would have waved to you when going to the luau! I was admiring that very same view when going in to dinner on Friday night. Are you going to write a trip report in the combined TR thread?

Haley is 13, she didn't want to go on our trip to Disney World and Ryan is 11 who wanted to go. She (Haley) had a good time once we got there. I love my monsters(Loving term that I call them) but I would love to just get away from them from time to time. And Kevin and I haven't went anywhere without the kids in yrs. Plus school here ussually starts at the end of Aug. So they will have be in school for about a month. Which by that time Haley will have started High School(9th). We have done the Disney Cruise with the kids and they loved it, back in 05, and know that they would love to go again. Like I said we are still just talking about it, nothing for sure. We might just take them along or we might not even go.
