Like it or not, the holidays are swiftly coming near. Malls are packed, shoppers plan their Black Friday routes, and parking spaces are now the next hot commodity. Let's help each other out this holiday season. You've heard of Oprah's Favorite Things. What are yours for 2011? What unique gifts have you discovered and can share? Let's hear your ideas!

I like your thread Nikki! Great idea! I found something I absolutely fell in love with. Wen products. They are cleansing conditioner for your hair. I have fine, colored hair that normally gets fried because I have to use heat to style it. I would always give up on trying to grow my hair because as soon as I'd get it trimmed it would be damaged again from the flat iron and such. This stuff is a miracle for my hair. I hate to sound like an infomercial and I have know business interest in the product but I wanted to share. Probably be a good BFF gift. Guys you may want to steer clear as your girlfriend will probably take it as " what's wrong with my hair?". Because that's what we do.. Lol

Yes, I love my Apple products, computer, phone, pad, etc. Besides that though one of my favorite gifts was a marble rolling pin. I know it's crazy, but I LOVE it. It's always cold, so it works well with pastry, it's heavy, so I don't have to work too hard.....just a thought!

One of the most favorite gifts I recieved this year was three bone china cups from an older friend. She knew I had a collection and gave me three of her cups for my birthday. They mean alot to me because they were hers. I will cherish them.

My favorite things?

Well, there's my iPad. Got it in the summer and have a lot of fun using it where a full-size MBP laptop just isn't convenient. I use it for following FB posts while perhaps reading something in the Kindle App.

Also loving my DSLR and considering upgrading to a "better" model. Right now I've got the Nikon d3100 and am considering getting the newer D5100. But my real desire is to get their 18-200 zoom. I've got two lenses right now, one is 18-55 and the other is 55-200. With the 18-200 I'd have both in a single lens and wouldn't have to swap out when needed. Having said that, most of my pictures are with the 18-55. Also going to be trying out some more fully featured photo editing software. Right now I use iPhoto and am pretty satisfied with it, but you don't know if you're missing some great feature unless you experiment.

And, of course there is the Keurig. Loving the fact that I can have freshly brewed coffee at any time and there is no wasted "bottom of the pot" stuff to throw out. Also loving that I can have good, strong black coffee while Val can have something different to go along with her (sweetener, creamer) ingredients. :coffee:

Apple TV!!! Can't forget the Apple TV. Got it last year for my birthday and it turns out its Val that uses it most. She loves to stream Netflix to it while in bed at night. She watches a lot of old TV series on it, which is kind of funny when you think about it. Watching old TV series instead of what's being shown today. The neat thing about watching the old series is that there are no commercials. :surfweb:

I have vision issues and just got the new kindle touch. Just love it. It's smaller than my older kindle and e ink is easier to read. Can make font bigger so I can read easily but easy and lite to carry anywhere.

I love my Nikon D3100. It was my Christmas gift last Christmas, and I am still learning its capabilities, but I've been really happy with the photos I've taken so far.
The Vera Bradley carry-it-all wristlet is my favorite new Vera thing, and I've got one on my Christmas list in a winter color.
The Frogg Toggs Chilly Pad helped me cope with the summer heat in WDW in August.
I'm one of the first teachers in my school to be getting an iPad, and it should arrive any day now. I think it will be my new favorite thing, so I'll be updating this post!
Then I'm going to need one of the iPad covers from Twelvesouth.com.... it never ends!

Spartina 449 purses! I discovered them in a giftshop in Columbus and I just love them. I was coveting one when I was there in April and was just back at the same gift shop last week and my bag was still there and on sale for 30% off. They are made on Daufuskie Island off of Hilton Head. Probably not for everyone (big prints) but very well made.

Also at Hallmark I found a brand new line of Disney pieces by an artist named Romero Britto. Funky stuff, very cute. Figurines, coffee mugs, candle holders, trinket boxes....I got this Jiminy...

Love the Donald Duck!! This would be a perfect gift for a co-worker who loves Donald...and has nicknamed Mickey "the rat" lol

My favorite thing for 2011 is my Electric (Wood burning stove).....we just got it last Saturday....It looks like the wood burning stoves that I remember from my youth....and boy does it put out some heat. My dogs love it too. It looks great at night while watching TV....just the sight of the "fire" makes me feel warmer.

My favorite thing for 2011 (no surprise for anyone) is my new camcorder. The Sony HDR-XR160 is truly amazing. This camcorder has a 160 GB hard drive to go along with it to allow one to record up to 54 hours of high definition footage. Although I have yet to try this out in Disney, I am looking forward to it with much enthusiasm (Mike Holland will agree with me). The camcorder also has a built-in EXMOR Low light sensor, so that you can record excellent footage at night (this will work to my advantage when filming the dark rides as well as DISapalooza.) There is sadly one thing wrong with this camera, but it annoys me only slightly. This camcorder does not have night vision. Very weird and I do not understand why this camcorder is amazing but fails to have night vision. Anyway this is MY favorite thing.

I know I'm behind the times but I finally got navigation in my car in 2011. I can't believe how great it is!!! I love GPS! How did I live without it for all of these years??? :lmao:
