DIS'er Meet UP, November 14th at Epcot

My family and I will be visiting WDW in mid November and thought it might be cool to meet up with other DIS'ers who are visiting at the same time.

Was thinking about an informal meet and greet to shake some hands, hopefully make some new friends, talk about our trips and get a group photo of everyone who can make it.

Thought a good place would be on top of the old Epcot symbol (It's on the walkway heading towards World Showcase. If you look on Google Maps you can see the symbol nice a clear) with the fountain and Spaceship Earth in our background at 11:30am on Thursday November 14th. There is usually a PhotoPass photographer there, and if not we can get somone to take our picture and I'll send it out to everyone. If it is raining we could move inside Innovation West for a photo. Hope others would be able to make it.

We are at the 5 week countdown mark to the DIS Meet-Up at Epcot. The thread has had over 680 hits but no replies from anyone who can make it. Come on fellow DIS'ers, take 10 minutes away from all our silly ADR's, Fastpass+ and Magic Bands and relax with others who love the DIS as much as you do. Please don't stay away cause I'm Canadian (LOL). Didn't you know we do foolish things like this all the time. We're Canadian, Eh! Love to meet anyone who's free for a few minutes to shake hands, talk about their trip so far and get that famous photo with the giant golf ball in the background.

Ah, that's too bad "raeolight", but like you our trip is fully planned out (got two little girls) and it is the only opportunity that week to get together. Have fun at Universal without me. Love to try to the new Transformers ride. Maybe on next trip, if I can pry my little ones away from princesses.

Wow! Look at all the views in the past 2 weeks. We are now over 2500 since first being posted and I am looking forward to anyone who can spare a few minutes to hang out. I would love to say I have a surprise guest coming to be with us, or we are doing a live show with the whole crew from the DIS , but I don't. It's just me and my family hoping to meet like minded fans of Disney and the DIS. Come on out and take 15 minutes to relax (which is sometimes hard to do in the theme parks) and talk to others about your special trip this time around or give some hints on how to make our trips better.

Oh, I almost forgot about the soon to be famous photo of us all standing with Spaceship Earth in the background. You can't miss that!

When I decided to try this I had to commit to a certain time and place and thought this would be the best for our family and maybe everyone else. As with all plans for our trip we have ADR's, FP's and everything else all planned out for that day (with little ones it hard to pull them away from princesses too long). Thanks for the reply and let's hope some others would be able to make the time and place. Have a great trip.

Wow, can hardly believe it is almost here. We are now at the 2 week countdown mark and we are looking forward to meeting any of our fellow DIS'ers who might be visiting WDW at the same time. If you are free to take a 15 minute break from your vacation, drop on by to get your picture taken with other DIS fans and talk about your trip thus far. We are meeting on the old Epcot symbol located on the walkway leading out to World Showcase. That time of day should be great for a photo of the fountain and Spaceship Earth in the background.

I can hardly believe we are now at the one week mark. It's been a long 2 months waiting for our DIS'er Meet UP at Epcot. I still have no firm confirmations that anyone is free to get together. Hate to cancel an opportunity to hang out for a few minutes with fellow DID'ers and take home that (soon to be famous) photo. Anyone who is free to come on out and if you are not and visiting at the same time I wish you the best vacation time possible (always easier at Disney). God bless everyone.

Thanks for trying to get this together! I think a big part of the difficulty is the FP+ MB. I know all my reservations for that morning are at AK - otherwise, I'd love to come and meet up with you! Not sure all this pre planning is going to work out for me. I have always liked not having to be in a certain place at an exact time. We'll see how it goes. Testing MB for me too - not just Disney! I had to commit to some time or it never would have worked (and still might not) for the Meet Up. Like you, I've changed my mind and moved around ADR's, FP+'s dozens of times since I was able to at the 60 day mark. If it works out that you can make it, that would be cool, and if not please have a great vacation. Thought this would be a great opportunity to get some fellow DIS'ers together, especially if there are no DIS Meets anywhere near where you live. All the best.
