Hello Everyone,

I am planning a trip for Jan 30 - Feb 14. I am finally putting all my charts together on Index cards and have come up with some of discrepancy between Tour Guide Mike and Tour Plans Crowd Levels. Anyone know what is best to go by. i am trying to finalize my intinerary and now i dont know what to do.. Any Ideas????

Crowd levels? Or which park for which days? If it's just crowd levels, don't worry about it. If it's best park for a certain day, I like TGM's logic the best.

I was just asking... Cause Mike says the best park for a specific day is MK but the Tour Plans says It is the worst Park.. And there is like 4 or 5 days like that.. SO i thought i would ask which is best to go by..

Ah, the perennial question:

....Tour Guide Mike vs. Touring Plans

I've always preferred TGM.

TGM is usually right on the money (at least he has been on my last 3 trips).
Plus since I'm paying for TGM, I'm going to take his advice. LOL

That's why I hate using UG. They don't give you any reasoning behind their best parks like Mike does.

I think if the discrepancy is with MK or HS it's due to whether Fantasmic or Spectro is there. It will obviously be busier but if you want to see these shows you don't have a choice in attending on the few nights they offer it.

I am having that same problem for Friday, February 5th. I am going with TGM

TGM has always been right on for me on best days for which park.

I like the fact that he helps me find the reason "why' so that I can make a decision for myself on whether or not it's worth it to brave the crowd on a yellow or red day.

I prefer TGM's because it is so much more specific -- he tells you WHY he recommends what he recommends, or doesn't, as the case may be. That makes a big difference to me. Sometimes the WHY behind the warning or recommendation just doesn't apply to me or my plans. Then I can choose to heed the advice or go against it, whatever works best for me.

Obviously, if you're using TGM and Touring Plans, and are a DISer, you're a smart Disney-goer. So eenie meenie mighty moe it and go with one. If you're educated enough to be asking about it, I doubt using the "wrong" one will make much of an impact in your enjoyment that day.

wow now i am nervous. ALL I've been using is TP.

I am going this friday now I'm worried my plans are ruined.!

:sigh:

Don't fret. Having a touring plan is way more important than going to the "right park" on the "right day". I've been in parks on TGM's "red" day or a least recommended day from TP.com and been just fine because I had a detailed touring plan, with contingencies. I knew the park would be packed, but it was ok. I wasn't going to be standing in line with "them". Just navigating around "them". It *is* easiest when there's less of "them" to navigate around.

when we join tgm, we have to swear on our firstborns to mike that we will not divulge this info! :cool2: while relinquishing my firstborn is appealing at times... i just can't do it!!! :lmao:
