Hi- I am trying to help a friend that planned a whole trip with another friend of hers and now her friend has decided to not go and left my friend Sandy holding all of the reservations for everything without being reimbursed. She has Discovery Cove booked during her now canceled trip sometime during August 11-18th. My question is- obviously her date is within 30 days so there is no refund available, but she has the 1 complimentary date change that she could make. I know this is not what the policy intends so no flames please, but could she reschedule the dates for like 2 months from now and then sometime later cancel and get her money back? Has anyone done this or have any experience with this? I really want to help my friend as she is out so much money for this trip thanks to her crappy friend.
UPDATE- Thought that I would pass this along in case anyone is stuck in a situation like this. My friend did change her dates for more than 30 days out, called the next day and was able to cancel and get her money back. The only thing that she was out was the money for the Aquatica tickets that were bundled with the Dolphin swim package that she had bought. Luckily the Aquatica tickets are good for 1 year and she had the name changed on the tickets and is giving them to someone else. It was very easy to cancel and she wasn't hassled at all. Of course, ymmv.
