Both my sister and I are very short-sighted and have to wear glasses. If we take them off, we can barely see our hands in front of our faces, no lie. Now, we are unable to wear the eye masks that you use for snorkeling and stuff, although we're not too bothered about that.

Our main concern is about the actual swim with dolphins. Do you have to wear the mask for that? Could we just wear our glasses and no mask? Are glasses even allowed in the pool because of the dolphins?

If someone who has been before could answer those few questions, it would make the world of difference - i.e. whether we decide to go or not!! :rotfl:

you can get goggles with prescription lenses at DC if you can wear those, that way you would be able to snorkel too.

However, the first year i did the dolphin swim the trainer said no goggles because the dolphins will think they are toys, but last year the trainers let us wear goggles if we wanted.

sorry that im not much help. But i didnt know if you knew about the prescription lenses.

Yes, I did see they mentioned the prescription ones on the Discovery Cove website, but I'm not sure they will cater to my prescription as it is very strong! But thanks for pointing that out! :-D

We were at Discovery Cove last week and they do have prescription masks. For the dolphin swim you do not wear your mask - it is all above water level. You can wear your regular glasses - we were wearing sunglasses and the trainers said that was fine.

Thank you! That's the information I was looking for! :thumbsup2 I was worried they might not allow you to wear glasses during the Dolphin swim because of the animals. Now I know you were able to wear sunglasses, then we should be fine with normal glasses, and we will make sure they are attached with the sports chain things!
