Discovery Cove or the Disney Cruise?

What would you do? It would be just my boyfriend and I. As of now we have 5 nights booked at the Grand Floridian with a dolphin swim at Discovery Cove. We used a 40% pin code, and realized we could do a three day cruise with one night before and after at the Grand Floridian for the same price. What would you do?

Thanks

I'd do the Grand Floridian, but then I just love theme parks and Disney deluxe resorts.

If I wasn't going with little kids, I personally wouldn't do a Disney cruise. If you're interested in doing a cruise sometime, I'd suggest one of the newer Royal Carribean or Carnival ships instead (a better value in my opinion -- good food and entertainment too). Maybe a Disney vacation this time and a cruise for your next vacation??

Tough choice.

We did DC a few years ago and hope to go back soon. Loved the experience! :goodvibes

We haven't done DCL yet, hope to do that soon, before DD10 gets too old ( I wanted to wait until she was old enough to remember).

I guess it depends on what experience you want. Do you want to spend many days at the theme parks or will one or two days be okay? Have you stayed at GF before or is this something you've been waiting awhile to do? I haven't stayed at GF yet but we have stayed at AKL a few times and loved it there. :cloud9:

Cruising is such a different experience than going to the parks so I would pick the one you want to do the most. Personally, without kids, I would do GF and DC. You won't be disappointed in DC. Truly an amazing way to spend the day. And everything is inc. in the price (food, drinks, snacks, dolphins )

Maybe like PP said, do do a different (less $) cruise and go to GF this time.

If it was me, and I could use the pin # at AKL, that's what I would do. I know it doesn't have the easier access to the parks that GF does but there is nothing better than rising early, eating your breakfast on the balcony, while the animals are waking up to eat theirs. It's so quiet you can hear them munching!:grouphug:

We did 3 night DCL, Discovery Cove, Sea World and then 4 nights at Bay Lake Tower... Discovery Cove was definitely the highlight of our trip. WOW Is all I can say. It is just one amazing day which you will never forget. The photo package, although expensive is absolutely priceless. It was much, much better than the cruise and the Grand Floridian sounds great too, never been there. So I would skip the cruise, wait for the Disney Dream to come out and I dont' think I will ever do another 3 night... we are doing a 4 night next time. By the time we got on the ship for the 3 night, we were packing to get off.

I cruised Disney when my DD was 3 and 4 yrs old, it was lovely, but I dont think I would do it as a couple.

I now love Royal Caribean, and so does she now shes 7 ( Shes been on the Liberty and Freedom, we would never go back to Disney for cruising now. ) Just my view, I do love Disney, their parks are amazing...

We are doing Dc for the first time in April, can't wait. Shes nearly 8 yrs old now, so for us this was " the right time".

If I was you, as a couple I would stay at GF ( lucky you ! )

What ever you decide... enjoy.:)

I've never done a cruise before, but I'd say do Discovery Cove. I've been to Discovery Cove twice and will be going back in June. You'll never forget that experience. It truly is amazing and an all inclusive day with food and drink and wetsuits and snorkling gear! I think it'd be pretty romantic too!

I'd do discovery cove ony been dc once but loved it so relaxing food great so peacefull and chilling and the plus the swim with the dolphins is amaxzing but i felt so rested and was sucha amazing experience id def do dc

To go on the other side of the popular vote , DH and I did DC for our Honeymoon. REALLY did not enjoy it. The dolphin experience, in my view, was overrated and cheesy, photos were awful and all they had to drink was beer (free drinks should equal at least another option...). Food was eh. Overall I was VERY disappointed and felt like we had not only just wasted $500 but a whole day of vacation. I would never return.

Maybe instead of the cruise you could stay at the GF and do deluxe dining or V&A's or something? Just my opinion, whatever you choose I'm sure you'll enjoy! :goodvibes
