We will be staying at the Royal Pacific Resort, and on Christmas Day will be going to Discovery Cove. I am trying to decide where to go for Christmas dinner. I have read other posts say they weren't even hungry after their day at DC. So I am perplexed if I should make reservations somewhere. However, since it is Christmas, I think we should do something special on Christmas. Thoughts? Also, what time should I make reservations? The park closes at 530? So dinner at 730??? I was considering dinner somewhere at City Walk.

TIA!!!

If you want dinner at City Walk, make them as soon as bookings are available

Since you will be at D C for the day, consider a late meal, 8:00 pm

If you find after you leave DC your appetite is nil you can always cancel the reservation or keep it and just order an appetizer or dessert

When are they available to start booking? I was considering making reservations at Toothless, but I don't think they are taking reservations quite yet.

We did DC on Christmas Day 3 years ago. We were at the Residence Inn at SW. We went to wash up and change in our room at the end of the day. We stayed until park close. Then we had a 7:30pm reservation at Margaritaville. I was very very thankful for the reservation. Since I have an AP, we parked in the CityWalk garage, and walked into a thick sea of people. Since I am familiar with CityWalk, I lead my hand held family chain parting the crowds like a fish. It was a great meal, festive and fun. We then wove our way back to our car, then drove back to our hotel, that was not that far away, just took time because of the traffic.

Since you are at RPR, I would look at that hotel resaurants. Once the parks are closed in Universal, the masses clog CityWalk. Since Toothsome will be officially open on the 22nd, I would keep looking for a reservation after that. Since not all the Universal restaurants have a uniform time on first time you can reserve. I think I made mine in October, but I will look and see if I still have the email confirmation. I will look for ya, and post if I do.

We enjoyed our holiday at DC so much, we are returning to it again this holiday. If you would like to say hi, we would be happy to do a DIS meet.

Have an awesome time! And jealous you are at RPR.

I'm jealous of those being in Orlando for the holidays lol

OP IDK Christmas Day spent @ DC sounds plenty 'special' to me! :). there are lots of options for good CS food @ DC. I found that it wasn't as much not being hungry (I can always eat something) that keeps us from making plans after a day @ DC; it's more the fact that we are tired after the very active day of water play.

Since it's an early start anyway for us and liking to book one of the first dolphin swim slots, I find I am more than ready to just relax at the resort and turn in early.

Still, it being Christmas and all...might be fun to check out Citiwalk's vibe. You could even pick up something to-go on the way back to enjoy later @ the resort

We did DC Christmas day 3 years ago. It was cool that day but stayed in the water. We loved it. Two days before xmas, i ordered a ham dinner from Millers Ale House. I think i paid $45.00 for ham, scallopped potatoes, veggies, salad, rolls & dessert. I picked it up on the 24th afternoon after 3 and put in our fridge at the resort.
After pur day at DC, we showered, opened a few presents I had brought and ate dinner in our room.

If it were me, I would have a special Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve (which has always felt just as festive, if not MORE festive, than Christmas Day) and then order room service on Christmas night. We always return from Discovery Cove full and tired, so we wouldn't book a substantial meal for that evening.

That's a great idea! I think that's what we will do.

Here's another one who will be at DC on Christmas! Yeah, I think we may have to do a Dismeet. Glad to see this post, because I was wondering what we would do as well. I assumed that we would be hungry after a day in the water, but after hearing everyone who had been before make their comments, now I'm not so sure. I actually had made a reservation at Fago de Chão, but now I may have to reconsider. And Toothsome? Is that a new restaurant?

Toothsome is new
There is a thread about it on the UO forums

Come join us on that new thread
It includes pics of inside and outside of the building
