Had Anyone ever did this ?

My sister is thinking about going on our December trip because when we did it 3 years ago (in October ) my neice was too young and missed out.

They are just planning on paying for her to do the swim but I think it will be too cold for the rest of the family to enjoy the day.

In basing this on having been to Florida in December before and while my dh and ds braved the pool it was too baltic for me !!

What do you guys think ?

Hi

We did Discovery Cove on 30th December about 5 years ago, it was great, chilly in the ray pool but otherwise fine. I didn't go in the pool at Pop when we went this Feb as it was too cold, but I remember enjoying Discovery Cove. Maybe it's becouse i'm getting older:rolleyes1

Everyone will be different, been 5 times in Dec and although had some nice days we have had some where we had to de-ice the car.
DC cove is not something we would do at that time of year but we only go in a pool if its 90+ it has to be baking for me to go in water.

We went in the middle of Nov last year and it was a beautiful day, it was really warm and even when we were with the dolphins we weren't cold. We also been to Florida several times at the beginning of Dec and the weather can be a bit hit or miss. We've had lots of beautiful really warm weather when it would've been ok to have gone to DC but we've also experienced really cold days when we had to wear about 5 layers!

We went in August on a lovely hot day and the Grand Reef was really cold. I only managed one lap before having to get out to warm. Even the guides, in full wetsuits, said it was cold.

God knows how cold it will be in December!

We did it last year during a record cold week. They called the day before we were supposed to go and asked us if we would mind switching to later in the week since it was supposed to be so cold our original day. We switched and we were just fine. We wore the wet suits. The water is heated. I think it was still in the low 70's. We had a great time.

Thank you all for your replies.
I will pass them on to my sister and she can decide.
