I am going to FL and will only have one day to do Discovery Cove. I would love to bring my son that day. Do they have a 1 day ticket to Discovery Cove or do I have to get the pass with the 14 day admission to Sea World too? It seems like such a wast for one day. Are there any other good places in the Orlando area that have dolphin swims? TIA.

You can go for a day, but you miss out on SWF afterwards.
I think Disney used to have a dolphin encounter, but I haven't heard of people talking about it. DC is the best.

You want to plan a trip where you can stay a couple nights. Book the Renaissance hotel for the July 4th holiday. The reduce rates at these times.

How old is the kid? If they are 2-4, you probably want to leave them with grandparents. DC is like going to Key West. Think of a hammock, a beach. If you bring a kid, you'll be watching them the entire time. Yes, we all want to make our kids happy, but DC is better done as an adult. Kids won't understand the "relaxing" thing. To them, they just want to play, run around, and make noise.

Discovery Cove admission prices are all for one day only. The free Seaworld admission is a bonus for you to use or not use as you wish.
