How strict is the no jewelry policy? Will we be asked to remove wedding rings or simple stud earrings?

We were just there two weeks ago. We did not have to remove our wedding bands. However, I believe you are not allowed to wear necklaces, bracelets or dangling earings. Our trainer, in our pre-talk before the dolphin swim, mentioned that the dolphins are very attracted to shiny things. All the men and boys were asked to check any pockets in their board shorts to make sure they were not accidentally carrying anything into the water that could be a danger to the dolphins. We were allowed to go into the water with sunglasses and hats and our ID cards tucked inside our vests.

Wedding bands are the only allowed jewelry. Any type of earrings must be taken out. That includes studs, belly button rings, cartilage piercings, everything that could fall off and into the water. Even screw on back earrings can come off.

And the reason wedding bands are allowed is because most people don't get them resized so they're extremely difficult to get on and off after a few years of marriage.

Strict. Wedding bands because I assume most are sized right and will not fall off even in water, and most married people like having their bands on more than any other jewelry. No earrings, no bracelets, no anklets or toe rings, no necklaces, no hair bands or other things that could fall off in water. My DD had woven string bracelets on her wrist and they let her keep them on (they were knotted so they would only come off if broke or cut), but DC said just be careful as they had those type of bracelets come off in the water and get lost. Hers did not. They were fine.

The reason for being so strict is that if any jewelry comes off they have to close that entire pool and move the dolphins out until it's found. Which means that all of the interactions after that point are delayed however long it takes to be found.

They only allow a waterproof watch and a tight-fitting wedding set, same as the trainers. Everything else MUST come off. If you physically cannot take it off, it is at the discretion of the trainers.
