We have the AP, DC and DVC membership and are American Express card holders. It seems like they all have the same basic discounts. The DC website clearly posts current discounts which are good for a while. You don't know what the discounts will be with DVC until the beginning of the upcoming month from what I was told at the DVC (Can anyone tell me more on this?). The AP discounts change on the 1st of the year. Last year they offered better discounts. Found out they didn't offer "free kid's meal" any longer when we returned in May and got the 2001 AP card "sleeve". The best deal is the AmEx card (15% off merchandise at DTD) if staying in Disney. I guess it's good to have them all. Don't know why Disney had to start making money from Club members. I could honestly do without the magazine if I could save another $15.00 for the cost of the subscription. We did save plenty already though.

Grosvenor has 25% off character breakfast (DC offer) and was told it was regularly $10.00 for adult and $6/7.00 for child. Can anyone comment on this resort breakfast and the very inexpensive price?

You can also see the DVC discount list online at the members website. The list does NOT change much from month-to-month, but it does change a little at times.

I have also copied this thread to the "Orlando Hotels" Board here at DIS. You might check there for answers to your Grosvenor question.

Good Luck!

Actually, the AmEx discount at DD is only good if you are paying for your lodging and entire stay with your AmEx card. The first time we went, we used AmEx and got the White Glove treatment fanny pack. I wore it several more times until it broke and had to buy a new one. We tried getting the AmEx discount one time (we also have DC, DVC, AP) and they told us since we were "DVC Members" staying on points, we couldn't use the AmEx discount. With the AmEx fanny pack they never asked.

I don't know how I missed your post...this is my same question...

The main advantage AP's seem to have is a more hotel discounts and of course unlimited entry to at least the 4 main theme parks.

But surely there is something else?

When we were there in May, we got the Amex 15% discount and we were staying on points. Both times all the cashier asked to see was our room card showing we were staying on property.

Don't know about the character breakfast at Grosvenor's but we had the Sunday brunch, absolutely great. The brunch is now a "must do" everytime we go. They had a person doing free caricatures, live piano & bass music, champaign toast, omlets made to order, all the food was great.

Sounds good. Also wondering if the restaurant atmosphere is as nice as Disney's other resorts. Friendly, cheerful, clean, etc. The reason I ask is because of some reports of unhappy lodgers who left to stay somewhere else.

In response to the room key and getting AMEX 15% discount, do they look just like the resort guests? They really don't include DVC members, even when using the card?

The wearing of the fanny pack was a great idea. Should have done that last month when off-site

One more tidbit: We used our DC card and bought over $100.00's worth. I forgot something and had showed the clerk my receipt and asked if it was OK to get the discount. He said no, I couldn't. I went back to the clerk who checked me out the first time and he gave it to me. What was the big deal? I could've said that the clerk forgot to ring it up, then what? I just try, try again!
Disney people usually aim to please. Once in a while there's one who is.....new?
