Discounts on rooms?

I know that there are some travel companies that offer discount offers on Disney rooms [some rather significant discounts by having "blocks" of rooms that they can sell]. Are there any similar deals out there for the US hotels? TIA!

i don't know of anyone that uses a travel agency for UO.

many times when a company, agency books a block of rooms, they release them back to the hotels when they can't book them.

i have received some great deals on the ap rate when those rooms are released back to the public.
the hotel has done that to fill up those rooms in a hurry.

3 weeks out from my booked stay, i was able to modify my rate down to $134 with the ap.

the only other thing i can think of is checking out Orbitz for UO hotels.

i get their special codes but pass on using them as i find other discounts to use.

Try signing up on Universal Orlandos website .We just got a 40% off discount .You can also keep your eyes posted on the Loews hotels website, they often have special rates ( like the Stay more save more rate).AAA also offers a discount as well as Annual pass holders.I have occasionally seen the Universal hotels on Expedia or Orbitz too.No one I know uses a travel agency for Universal.

I ended up using my AAA to get a discount after having to cancel a reservation I made through hotels.com. It was supposed to be a cheaper rate, but the hotel charged me the standard, seasonal rate which was $50 more. Surprise! I signed up for their emails (only about a month ago), but was not able to score this 40% off that some on here have, but the AAA discount was pretty good. Plus the rate dropped two days later when I called to re-book, which helped too.

Thanks for the advice. I booked our 1 night stay but was told there was no AAA or other discount and its *OUCH* expensive. Unfortunately, unless I'm mistaken its the only way to get the early entry and FOTL which we will need for the marathon day that awaits us...I'll sign up as suggested and hope for the best. :)

What is your date and rate? That is weird that there was no AAA discount.

I also booked 2 weekends (not sure when we're going) and according to their website, the AAA, AARP and standard rates are the same. (9/27-28, and 10/3-4).

AAA rates don't show on the universal or Loews website. You have to either call or go on the AAA website.

Agh Ahhh! there's a piece of info I didn't pick up before.
Just called AAA and got my 1 night at RPR for about $60 less than through UO.
Thanks.

You can get the discount by calling UO, just not on their website.
