Hi! We are recent DVC members. While we love the villas, we'd like to take a camping trip about once/year. I understand it's very hard to book campsites on points, and also probably not the best use of points.

Are their any DVC discounts for campsites? We're also annual passholders...any discounts there? I have a hard time keeping everything straight! Thanks!

There are no discounts on campsites for DVC members. No idea if there are even AP discounts.

Since the posters on the camping board probably do know, I'll move your question over there.

I have an AP discount for our May trip. We are DVC members and find using points at FW is very wise use of points. As long as they're my points, and I use them where I want, it's wise use. Don't let the folks on the DVC boards talk you out of using points ANYWHERE you want.

We got an AP discount for our March trip to FW. I didn't even know if we would get the discount until I called, and they gave it to me.

AAA discount seems to be the best discount I can usually find. Most of the time when I book, it seems that the Passholder discount is a higher rate that AAA.

I have only been able to get the AAA discount once. They have a limited number. Only thing they have left now for when we go in November is for the tent sites. I keep trying though. They say if someone cancels a AAA reservation it will open up another to book.

Is it the same way with the Annual Pass Holders or do you get a discount all the time? Just curious. I keep thinking about doing this and coming twice a year. :)

AP discounts are the same, a limited amount when announced, only allotted to a certain number of sites.

Thanks Carol! I kinda figured as much. I wish if you had one of these "discounts" that they would just let you use them not have a certain amount. They make enough money off of us they can cut us a break. Not like they offer any other discounts for us campers.

:mickeyjum:mickeyjum:mickeyjumJust to let everyone know, right now the 25% value discount applies to the campgrounds. I just went on line and plugged in the dates using the check availability area under the save atleast 25% section. We are looking at going in August and the last day of the sale is August 14. However, if you use August as your check-in day, the sale applies for the entire stay. Disney doesn't usually apply the discounts to the campgrounds, but I'm not complaining.

Become a friend of a CM and they'll get you a 45% discount.

Made reservations last night for August 14, to August 28, 2010. I pulled up all the information on line before I made the call just in case there was a problem. The reservation CM wasn't aware of the discount applying to the campsites. I told her I had the info on line and she punt in information in and the discount was applied. There are a couple of different discounts. One is less than 4 nights and the other one is for more than 4 nights. It save me almost $200.:mickeybar
