Discounts--how common?

Just got back from 6 glorious nights at the Contemp. tower. By using a code I saved more than $800. Just wondering--was I incredibly lucky or does the Contemp. frequently offer discounts? What time of year are they most likely to be offered?

(Boy it's tough to focus on work today--my first day back!)

The discounts you have seen this year are rare. Other than the usual Disney Club, AAA and Annual Pass Holder discounts, Disney usually offers a late summer (late August - late September) discount on rooms at the resorts. This year has been a bonanza for discounts and we owe it to the sluggish economy. I guess we will have to wait and see what next year brings!
