Discounts for January 2008?

I was reading through the info and it looks like universal offered free tickets to the park with your stay last January. Is this something they offer evey year? I dont see it yet on their website. We are going down Jan 9-13 and I havent booked the room yet. Should I wait for a possible discount?

Most times it's cheaper to buy the 7 day ticket ($86) and book the hotel separately (most use AAA [if they have it]) Most times it's cheaper to go and book a la carte vs. 'package' anyway....

You could always call and ask them too.....
