Are there discounts for DVC members on DCL if you are paying cash? We are thinking of going next year. The other question is, if I am taking extended family that are not DVC members, can they get the discount if there is one?

AFAIK, there are no discounts for DVC members who pay cash to cruise on the DCL.

Best wishes -

Just joined DVC, won't even get our points until Dec. We're avid cruisers, have done 5 DCL and sometimes we get such great deals if we book while on board, then get a $200 credit on our Card for the cruise. Anyhow, can we buy 1 cruise, and use our points on another. ie., only use our points for my husband. Just curious. As I mentioned, we are totally new to this.

If I understand your question, the answer is yes. You can use points for 1 adult then pay cash for the rest if you desire. The problem is that the cash price in that situation is usually significantly more than the per person cost through DCL directly or a TA. It's not uncommon for the cash portion for a cabin when using points for one to be about as much as the cash price directly for the entire group and you keep the points. But some situations will be more reasonable than others. You should compare all options and decide what is best for you. You usually get the best value when looking short notice because you've given up the early booking discounts. For more expensive cabins which are less likely to be discounted and for certain cruises that are not usually discounted. Using points only for a cruise usually gives one between $6 and $6.75 per point compared to early booking discounts, even less in some cases, esp for FL residents.
