Discounts for AAA membership

DH and I are going to California in April, and our hotel will give a 10% discount for AAA members. Does anyone have any discount codes to join AAA, or do you know of any other ways to receive a discount (like going through VISA or going through Costco...) TIA!

go to the AAA website - they are currently offering discounts for new members. No enrollment fees and associate memberships are half-price.

I just got the discount offer in the mail last week, I am joining too. Maybe you could call and ask them if it is available in your area?
That is the only offer I know of right now.

How much is the annual membership? What savings does it have for Disney, especially if you are a DVC member?

In Ohio, basic membership for AAA is $61 without a new member discount. For DVC members, there's probably not much opportunity for Disney savings since you're probably staying at DVC resort. I believe DVC members get better ticket discounts than AAA members.

Keep in mind AAA membership fees may vary from club to club (or state to state).

The best way to get a discount on a fee is usually through the mail -- some AAA clubs have been known to be agressive in mail marketing.

On the other hand, you could stop by your local AAA office and ask someone who works there...

If you sign up for automatic renewal you will get a small discount (a few dollars). Other than that, there is no discount on membership that I know of. I have a basic membership, but around mid-year will sometimes get a mailer to upgrade to the premium membership for the rest of the year for free. I guess they hope I'll keep the premium membership come renewal time (but I don't )

There are so many other great benefits though to being a member. Did you know that Direct TV now offers a $10 a month discount for 24 months to AAA members who begin service with them? If you already have Direct TV, they will give you a $50 credit this year and another $50 credit a year from now That in and of itself pays for your AAA membership. I copy/pasted the info below:

The member ship is $48 here and the current special is no $11 new member fee. and 1/2 off another family member.
