Discounted rates for DL resort next week

This is my first posting so I hope this is new information that someone can actually use. I was looking online for December rates (visiting 12/15-12/18!!) and saw this on the "Special Offers" page.

This is interesting. I thought that Disneyland used to contract with Expedia to release its unsold rooms at a discounted price, but I haven't seen any discounted rates on Expedia in awhile, and don't see any for next week.

I just noticed that I didn't mention that the rates were on the Disneyland.com website. I hope I can get a deal like this for my trip in December, right now they are quoting me almost $350 per night at GC.

Anater, I suggest you consider getting a AAA card. I'm staying at the GC from 7/21-7/24. The rate for that time is $380 but with my AAA card it is $344 a night. May not sound like much but after 3 nights I save $108!

If a discounted rate comes out later you can always change your ressie as long as you do it within the cancellation period.

Hey Anater,

I'm actually looking to stay at the GCH around the same time as you. I got excited thinking you found something good around those dates.. haha. We just have to stay on the lookout. I'm planning on being there the 12th - 17th.

On my findings so far, the cheapest quote I've gotten for a standard room at GCH is $306 a night at the passholder rate (or 10% basically).

I am not a passholder just yet but I was thinking if the passholder rate was good enough, I would be upgrading my 4-Day ticket ($179) to the cheapest annual pass for a non SoCal Resident (the Deluxe Annual Pass for $239). So for the $60 difference, I can already save $170 on my hotel stay at the rate of $306 a night. Plus, you also have the benefits of 10% off virtually every dining location on property which can end up being another savings of over $100 for us.

I am hoping the rates do go down as 5 nights at $306 is a big chunk of change. But hopefully we'll keep eachother posted. And thanks for posting your find.

What's interesting about this (to me) is I saw these same rates for almost these same dates in 2005 when I was looking for good rates at PP for our trip to DL. They didn't work for me because we were going in Aug.
