Discounted Gift Cards

Last year a friend of mine went to WDW in Aug. About a month before she left for vacation, she was mailed (or Emailed??) an offer to purchase a Disney Gift Card at a discounted price.

Are these offered all the time or was it just a promo for last summer?

The only deal that I personally know about is if you purchased a Packaged Deal you would receive a Disney Gift Card. If I remember correctly it ran from January - March and then was extended.

There were a set of what essentially amounted to pin emails that went out last year with this opportunity. Most people got them within a month of their trip. I THINK it was a $500 gift card for $300 and $750 for $500. I am not positive.

Yes...these are the cards I was referring to. So, do you think they were pincodes, or a one time promo? Or is this something ongoing with Disney?

OK..I dug, searched and googled and wouldnt you know, I found my answer from a DIS thread!

Apparently these came out last year, all the way through Dec. No more posts were made to the thread after Dec. The "Pins" were Emailed about a month - 2 weeks prior to guests vacations. It read..

The offer was not good on dining or lodging, but was available for pre packaged snacks in the stores/gift shops.

I think this promo is over..but I can still wish!

I got it last year for our December trip. Kept hoping the same thing would come this year, But we leave in 2 weeks so I guess I should be lucky I got it once.
