Currently on the DVC ticket discount page it shows you can guy the Platinum Plus AP at a discount until Jan 3, 2018. I thought I read somewhere that at the meeting they announced the discount to purchase will extend until December of 2018. Anyone else see this or know if this is true. Need to buy 2 AP's but was hoping to hold off until closer to our spring break trip.

thanks

My guess is that Ken Potrock misspoke. The information they sent out with the Disney Files (which I got a day or two after the meeting) was Jan not Dec.

Yes thats what's I saw on the page now. But after the meeting someone posted notes and I recall seeing it being extended. But I guess it was posted or spoken in error.

Add me to the list that believe it was either a "mis-speak" or a misunderstanding by the person who posted the info on Facebook. (I do not follow the Facebook group - lots of misinformation has been posted there and it seems corrections are not particularly well received).

I wonder with the new price increases for direct purchases if they will keep this AP promotion going into 2018 and just haven't posted it yet.

ha yes I saw that one too. when I saw the email I was hoping it was to announce an extension. I guess the post I saw was incorrect. thanks everyone

I hope they come up with something better, like a DVC specific AP that is only available to members with a low price. Seems like something to entice people to buy direct with the new pricing.

It wasn't Ken Potrock, it was Shannon Sakaske, Vice President Member Experiences. DVC should have the "guts" to put out something, they know he said it in front of 1,000 people plus it was blogged out to thousands more. Not just ignore it, admit it was an error.

You mean other than the Gold pass? That is DVC and FL resident only and cheaper than all other passes except for other FL resident.

What exactly did he say? Was it recorded? I’ve only seen a single blogger who interpreted his statement as an extension of the offer.

As I recall, he was talking about member benefits and he said something like the ticket offers available for purchase by December 3rd. My first reaction was he misspoke, it’s January 3rd. The crowd started cheering and nothing was said to correct it but it was the end of the meeting.

I asked this same question and it was agreed that they misspoke. The reason that made the most sense to me was that if they were indeed extending the AP discount, I would think they'd have made a much bigger deal of it-trumpets, drums rolling, something!

Yes I would of thought too, that's why I was surprised not to find anything online. I figured if it was true, it would be known by the people on here.

The one reporting it also said they had it recorded.

Being that they negotiate discounts with Disney, I don't think they could be held to it if it was an error.

That was my reaction too. The word "extended" was never used. And December 3 seemed to be an odd date. I think January 3 was used because that's the first day after the holiday blackouts.

All that would have been recorded was someone stating an incorrect date. Mistakes happen.
