I am considering purchasing the Disney Club Membership. What is the normal discount you get with it when you rent with National Rent a Car. I know with the old MKC you would usually get 10% Does anyone know what discounts I could expect if I joined the DC?

The DC gives anywhere from 5-20% off. I personally, have always gotten the 20%, maybe I'm lucky. Perhaps, I just go during the right times of the year. Who knows...

In any case, there are coupons and such with DC as well so, the savings can really add up!:)

Although the DC program coupon indicates a 10% discount, I have actually been getting 20% pretty consistently, both at MCO for a reservation in mid-July and for a trip tomorrow to Las Vegas. There is also a free day with 3-day minimum weekend rental running through September. I assume another such discount will cycle in as that one get closer to expiration.

I just received my DC member info yesterday and modified my ressie w/ National. I received a 20% discount plus another$17 off a weekly rental. I am going end of June. I saved a total of $70. Certainly well worth the $30!

Thanks for the info! I suppose I should break down and buy a membership. It sounds like it will pay for itself.

Hi,

I'm looking to book with National for a winter trip, but the DC codes I have only are good until 9/30.

Are the codes for beyond this date out yet? And if so, is there a link for obtaining them.

Thanks,

BrianBWV

BrianBWV,

Here's the link for the National 1 Free Day COUPON from Pluto's previous post. The catch is that you have to reserve through the link, where it says "Go to Cars" (takes you to National.) Anyone can use this coupon, and you can use it by itself, or in combination with the DC contract code (if you're a member)or other contract codes. The coupon is valid until April2002. We should probably re post it periodically. At least it gives you a code to use until DC is updated.

I tried using that coupon with my EC number and no matter what it forced the reservation to be counter service. I really don't want to use the counter if I don't have to. Any suggestions?

Check the post titled "Can't get National EA/EC online" for information on obtaining EA service. I think it's a problem with National's website, not the coupon.:D

sgtdisney, the problem is that the system will not let you mix and match (so I am told by National's internet dept) and they defer you to the counter so they can see the coupon itself.

The only time it has worked - both discounts taken on contract code and coupon code is through the DC. Are you a DC member? If so, that is your best bet. If not, contact National via telephone and ask to be connected to their internet dept as you are experiencing difficulties on the website. Don't make ressies through any CRO as you will not get the lowest rate available, that is, through the internet.

Hope this helps you!:D

I'm a DC member, but how do I find out what the contract code or product rate code is? I called DC and asked, but they didn't know.

chippmomom, Log onto the Disney Club member's website www.disneyclub.com go to the offers sidebar where it says "from our friends", go to the National car rental offers, there are two. One of them is a free day coupon 1******, the second is for % off car rental, contract code 5*****. The two offers can be combined for a significant discount off National car rental rates. Keep checking rates and read the boards, as rental rates change frequently.:D

PBHunt or others: I feel a little confused over the one day free coupon. PB, you say that anyone can use this coupon, not just DC members. However, is a variety of other posts, it appears that this coupon is only for DC members. I used the coupon ID # and printed out the "coupon". When I confirmed the reservation, the coupon said "Buena Vista Internet Offer". Is this the same as the DC offer?
I'm not a DC member, so I don't want to get to the counter and then have them refuse the coupon. I think I got a great rate with the coupon $154 for one week rental with taxes/surcharges included. Please confirm if coupon is valid for me to use. Thanks

Jo-Anne-

It is a dif coupon than the DC coupon, so you will be fine :) Just bring the printed coupon with you! :)

Jo-Anne, The Disney Vacation Coupon can certainly be used by anyone. Disney Club members have their own "free day" coupon available on the DC website. The DC coupon expires09/30/01, so its difficult to check reservation prices beyond that date. As long as you booked your car through the link shown on the Disney Vacation Coupon , you should have no problem using it.:D
