Discount room only credit

I was able to modify our resort reservation online and got the discount. Its says credit to hotel account. does this mean they didnt put it back on my card? Will they?

They won't put any money back on your card if you still have a balance due.

Reservation is for one night, already paid in full. Discount credit was $92.

I did something similar back in August. I modified our reservation online and changed from a Florida Resident discount to an AP discount, saving us $10 a night. When I originally made the reservation, since it was room only, I was only required to pay a 1 night deposit for the reservation. When I got my final bill at the end of our hotel stay, there was a credit on that for the original deposit amount, and then each night that we stayed we were billed for the lesser nightly amount.

So in my experience, no, they did not put it back on my credit card, they just credited the deposit amount paid to the hotel account.

Then I would call and ask for a refund.

The only time I had a credit on a hotel room was when I made a change to the reservation a few days before check in. They asked me if I wanted to leave the credit on the room to cover additional charges, and I said yes.

Ok tx! I figured they would if asked but I just thought it would default back on to card since I was paid in full.

They will leave it as a credit to your room account if you do not call and request a refund. If you plan on charging to the room I would just leave it.

I would leave it only if you are going in a few weeks and not a large $$$ credit. I dropped 4 days from my trip back in July and I asked for a credit back to my card. I didn't want them keeping it on the books as they sent me an email that I had a credit . Just saying..
