We’ve never been here before. I‘m used to holding out for specials and discounts at Disney, but not sure how DC works. We’re planning a late July-early Aug trip. Should I wait it out or is it pointless and running risk of selling out? Also, do prices usually increase as time goes on?

At this point, I would expect prices to begin climbing. They usually do a few months or so out. I do not think they will have difficulty selling tickets this summer, so also no incentive for them to offer more discounts. If you were looking at Sept that might be a different story.

I just got back, and our $202 tickets (Black Friday sale) would have been $589 if we waited & purchased a few weeks ahead. And that was during a slow early May weekend.

if you go to the Discovery Cove web site and the 'purchase tickets' section you can see prices (varies by day) and availability without purchasing anything .....

Discovery Cove DOES sell out ... not every day, but it certainly does happen. Dophin swims will sell out when 'day resort' without dolphin may still be available.

If you are 'entitled', there are military tickets available ..... even if not near a base, last time I checked you could get them via Patrick Air/Space Force Base ticket office (Cocoa Beach Florida) and they mail you the documents.
