I just saw this on facebook: Disney just added the great savings for summer travel. Now you can also save 25-40% on Select Walt Disney World Resorts for stays most nights 6/4 – 8/14! Be sure to check this out today as best availability books fast!

When I went to the disney site to check on the offer - it was showing Fort Wilderness Tent/Popup sites as part of this offer. I didn't see any other types of sites listed. I don't remember exactly but it was $130 less than the regular price. Not a big difference but every little bit helps.

Too bad I can't convince DH to go this year. We have an agreement to go every other year....

While I can't say for sure what you saw, it was most likely for the cabins at Fort Wilderness. For whatever reason, I have yet to see an offer or special that applies to the campsites at the Fort, only the cabins.

The cabins can be fairly pricey. With the specials that are going on, you might be able to find a good deal on a different resort or on the cabins. Depending on the number of people in your party, sometimes staying in a budget or moderate resort can beat the price of staying at a campsite. It's a matter of preference.

Book Room Only

Choose Campsites at Fort Wilderness and you will see the banner come up saying "Winter-Summer Room Only 5+ nights"

Room type: Tent/Popup Site

Price for the dates I chose: $732

Reprice without the offer: $861

So, yeah, I think there is an offer on these sites, just saying'.....

Error or not, my AAA lady booked it for me...she said it was only for the partial campsites! I am paid in full...yippeee!!!

I'm surprised as well for these discounts because the partials don't usually have a problem filling up. I would think the premiums would be the hard seller since they're so expensive.

I was just wondering if you were able to get the gift card they are also promoing? Glad you got the discount either way! See it's your first time camping at the Fort - have a GREAT time!:thumbsup2

No, I played around too and I was not able to get the gift card, I'm just happy for the other discount, I was quite surprised, actually! Thank you for the well wishes, we are SO excited!!! :cool1:

I just called to add the code to my reservation and I was told that codes do not apply to campsite reservations, so I canceled and made a new reservation online I saved $75.36, :woohoo: Thanks.

I'm having a hard time not booking this when it would only be $50/night for early June weekdays, WOWWW!!!!:banana:

About time that campground sites got a break!

Try calling and asking for a AAA discount. It is only $47 to join AAA and I got almost $150 off my site.

We just booked our Christmas visit ressies while at the park, we were told it was for cabins only, not sites, but it seems when I played around I was able to lower the price, but since we do not our RV, we are planning to get one, hopefully by this time, we booked the cabin, but looking to change it... Glad to see there is a discount for sites... Hope everyone has a great time on there trips there!

We just planned our first ever visit to the Fort,,,just bouth a new trailer and this will be our first l-o-n-g trip from New Jersey :)

We really overbooked to play it safe since we have a lot of time to decide; we will be there 10/29-11/5/10.

My question is I read about the AAA discount as well, and I am a current member, but when I called to ask for the discount, I was told you had to book your package through AAA...is that right?

We currently have 2 premium sites(one for us, one for mom and her friend), 4-day hoppers, and dining plan (which will be the great debate if we keep or not)

No, you do not have to book through AAA. You can call Disney and say, "Can you please add the AAA rate for me." Then you just have to show your AAA card at check-in. It's just like if you call any hotel chain and ask for the AAA rate, you don't have to do it through AAA, you just have to prove that you are a member of AAA. However, if you want the special story time and Diamond parking, you DO have to book through AAA. HTH!:thumbsup2

Actually that is not entirely correct. If you want a AAA discount on a package you have to book through AAA. If you just want the discount on the site or room, you go directly through disney. You cannot get the discount on the package directly through disney.

The times that I have booked a package, the AAA and disney quote were the same. Not sure why though. You can always call AAA and get a quote and see which one is better.

I now book separate as it works out cheaper for me.

Yes, I actually intended to book everything separately, but since I called so far in advance I thought it would be wiser to get site, tickets and dining plan, and then take my time and look around to see what the individual prices would come out to.

Now, if I 'downgrade' as Disney calls it...and change my "package" to room only....will I lose my spot and be subject to a cancel and rebook? I've read on this site that this happens at times and then I could potentially lose my site?
