Does anyone know if there are going to be any deals on the new Lego Mindstorm set around Black Friday? Hopefully online???

I know BF has come and gone but we're thinking this will be the big gift for our DS12 this year so I have been looking for deals too!

It seems the going rate is $350. Walmart has a $25 egiftcard with purchase right now Or, the RedCard at Target will get you 5% off. If you have a redcard that's about the best deal I can find.

Walmart is now giving a $50 eGiftcard with purchase! I almost ordered yesterday but waited...glad I did. I think I'm going to go for it, we're running out of time.

On the Walmart page today there are online specials. Click the link to the toys and video games specials and then sort the toys high price to low. The Mindstorm is the most expensive so it should now be at top of list. Select it and then there is a link to personalize and add to cart. When you click that, the form for the eGiftCard comes up. The eGiftcard will come via email.

I hope you got it to work. I haven't actually purchased yet because I want to confirm with DH this evening.

Just FYI, I just got an email from Walmart saying there was an error processing the order and they are fully refunding me I called the credit card company and they said it's not on their end, that they approved, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

The payment information included in your order did not pass some of our security checks during processing. These checks prevent unauthorized use of your credit or debit card. An online order cannot be placed at this time, but you may purchase this item at your local Walmart.

Seriously? So annoyed. I told them that seemed a little shady to advertise the $50 gift card and then say it can't be processed, but that I can go get the item at the store. The credit card company said they approved the purchase, so very bizarro.

I tried to order again this morning and got the same error message. I then called my credit union and she said that there was no reason for it to not go through but that perhaps it was something from Verified by Visa. Did you try to pay with a Visa card?

She then put a note on my account requesting that purchase be approved and told me to try again. I did...within 10 minutes I got the same error message. I called her back and she still could not understand why the transaction declined and said I need to wait to talk to WalMart. Grrr!

I did use a Visa. That is very strange. Your gift card idea seems like a good idea! I might hold out and see if it goes on sale after Christmas unless something else comes up. DH has been saving up for it to do with the kids, but it wasn't necessarily a Christmas gift, we usually go a lot smaller for Christmas since our kids are still little, so I have the time to wait. Stinks for you though!

Well...after getting the kids off to school I went to Walmart to get a gift card to try and order this darn thing! So far, so good. I have the confirmation and have not received any "error messages". Now, I just need to get the eGiftCard and I'll feel better.

The weird thing about all this is that we just used the same Visa at Walmart.com to buy tires for my car a few weeks ago with no issues...and that total was for more $.

It's supposed to arrive by the 17th, I'll be relieved to get it in my hands!

I guess Target will be getting my business, Walmart clearly does not want to fulfill this offer!

Oh my stars! Are you serious??? Now you are stuck with a giant gift card. I'd be taking that back and talking to the manager. How stupid.

I had to call Walmart customer service because I checked the balance on the gift card and was not seeing the refund. After explaining the whole situation she checked and could see that the transaction was reversed due to security but did not have any more details than that.

She made sure credit was back on the card and prompted me to reorder but select the pay with cash option. There are no security checks on the cash option but you have to go into the store and pay. So, I placed the order...she comped expedited shipping for all the grief and once again I have a confirmation #. Now, I need to get back into the store to pay with the gift card.

Target doesn't have any in stock so I'm hoping for the best with this situation...wish me luck!
