Can someone confirm/help me out?

I am having a Wishes wedding, so I get to pick 2 deluxe, 1 value and 1 moderate for a discount for my guests, right?

I have to guarantee them a certain amount, based on my invitees? Does anyone know what that # is?

Also,

does anyone know what the discount percentage is, I have heard it is around 20% but varies for the different hotel types. I was going to pick the Poly, but I heard that the discount there is much, much less that Grand Flo. I'd really like specifics, so I don't get my heart set on something that won't be financially feasible for most of my guests.

THANKS!!

Hi! I know for the deluxes it's 30%, not sure about the moderates and the values (it's less than that). And I know that I have 150 guests and I had to guarantee 75 room nights. I think it's 75 room nights if you have over 100 guests. I was super nervous about this, but they filled up fast and I still have 4 months before my wedding!

Wow, more than I thought! Thanks!!

Yes, I hope I am as lucky with people booking. My SIL said she was getting a timeshare and I almost passed out.

If anyone knows the % for Mod or value, I'd appreciate it!

It is a 15% discount for moderates and 10% for values (not including Pop Century). The deluxe discount is 30% but that is for convention hotels. I think that the Polynesian was around a 15% discount and I not sure about the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I'm an on-site girl myself, but some of the deals you can get on timeshares is pretty good. I think this board has a deal on Sheraton Vistana 2br villa for under $150 a night.

My accountant is looking at renting a 2br for this summer, she's seen under $1000 a week for some of the nice Marriotts.

You might have to "sell" the benefits of being on-site. Bus service, EMH, etc.

I think you can pick whatever mix of hotels you want.

Ok, so 30% for only convention deluxes- which isn't the Poly. So, does that include Yacht and Beach?

I can't believe this info isn't on a site somewhere. I've looked everywhere.

Yes, timeshare deals are good, but not when I need to fill out my room block. I think I am going to try to talk my nephews into it. My SIL gives them whatever they want, lol.

I don't know if it answers your question precisely enough, but we only blocked rooms at 2 hotels because most of our guests are DVC members. We checked with our non-DVC guests to see where they'd want to stay and chose that way. We have POP at $77 and Wilderness Lodge at $199.

Thanks! I am playing with the calculator and hotel princes right now. I finally have some of my family together today and I was hoping to chat about hotel choices, for the same reasons you mentioned. :)

As the other posters have said, it's a 30%-15%-10% split. We chose the Grand Floridian (which works out to be 315$ night in January), the Yacht Club (266$), and the Port Orleans Riverside (149$). Rob's parents are serious Disney aficianados, and his mom was very excited by how good the rates are as they usually stay at the Yacht Club when they go.

As it turns out, most people are staying at the Grand Floridian.

Hope that helps.

You can pick any combination of hotels - it could be all Values if you wanted. Also, you don't have to pick 4 or even 3. The fewer you pick, the less time and money spent on a bus going to get everyone (if transportation is required). The prices change depending on the season, so your guests could pay more or less than SarahinMN's if they stayed at the same hotels.

Just FYI, I was able to do Pop Century as one of our room blocks too. They didn't give it to me as an option in the beginning but when I asked my consultant made sure that as long as I didn't care about putting all the guests in 1 building we could pick Pop Century.

I would have chosen Pop! Oh well it is too late now, my save the dates have already gone out. We are doing Beach Club, Caribbean Beach, and All Star Music.
