I just added a night to my stay next weekend and have a 2 day park hopper. We are checking in on a Friday instead of Saturday, but won't be arriving until after 5:00 pm. Is it possible to buy a discounted ticket since it won't be a full day? If not, how much would it be to add a day to our hoppers! Thank you!

The only folks with access to the Twilight tickets are conventioneers. Disney does not sell partial day tickets to the general public.

Based on the ticket prices listed on Disneyland.com, it will cost $50 to add another day to your 2-day park hopper (2-day PH is $204 and the 3-day PH is $254).

Update: Just noticed that I used the prices for a child's (3-9) ticket. The prices for adult (10+) tickets would be $217 (2-day park hopper) and $265 (3-day park hopper). The difference is $48 per ticket.

And a 1 park twilight ticket is $66 anyway, so upgrading a PH is a better deal.

That's not too bad!! I think it's worth doing since Disneyland will be open till midnight! thank you! :)

The agency we went through is only $35 a ticket for the upgrade. We are going from a 3 day hopper, to a 4 day hopper.
We are leaving next monday....SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference between a 3 day hopper and a 4 day hopper is only $24 at the gate. The OP will have to pay more to upgrade because there's a larger difference between 2 day and 3 day tickets.

True! Do we just go to the ticket window with our Eticket and ask to upgrade there?

You could go straight to the turnstile on the first day and upgrade the ticket any time before the end of the third day. It would depend if you want to get the upgrade over with, or if you want to spend every minute possible in the parks that first day.

Maybe someone else can confirm this, but I do think I remember someone posting that they lost the MM when they upgraded a ticket. If that's the case, then obviously you'd want to wait if you're staying offsite and going to use MM.

I think you only lose MM if you upgrade from a ticket to an AP, which doesn't have MM privileges.

Not sure if we're going to use MM but good to know! thanks! :)

OP, I believe PP confused your question with SMD's (they are starting with a three day hopper.) However, as you're beginning with a 2-day hopper you will have to go to the ticket window anytime before the end of the SECOND day in order to upgrade to a three-day hopper. If your first "day" is Friday evening, you need to upgrade before Saturday is over. If you wait til day three, your ticket media will be already expired.

I didn't even notice that, thank you for bringing it to my attention! I don't think we'll need a hopper for the extra day, which would be Friday, since we won't be checking in until 4-5ish. is it a bit cheaper if it's only for one park on Friday and then just use the hoppers for Saturday and Sunday?

No, the hopper is an add-on to the ticket ($39). The price does not depend on the number of days on the ticket (so it's $39 on a 3-day ticket or a 4-day ticket or a 5-day ticket). You cannot purchase the ability to "hop" on only select days of a multi-day ticket.

Purchasing a one-day, one-park ticket for Friday night would be $96. The cheaper option would be to add a third day to your existing two-day park hopper ticket. You would simply have to pay the difference between a two-day and a three-day ticket at a ticket booth. The difference that you would pay would be $48 (based on the prices on the the DLR website in USD for a two-day ticket--$178, and a three-day ticket--$226.)

The hopper option is an add-on that costs $39 for two- and three-day tickets. Since you already have a two-day park hopper, you've already paid that $39, so even if you upgrade to a three-day ticket, you won't pay anything additional. As Figment noted, though, you can't add a non-hopper day to a multi-day hopper ticket.

Got it!! It is still worth it, especially since the parks are open late anyway! Thank you all for your help!! it is much appreciated! :thumbsup2
