Discount for adding adjoining 2nd room for parent?

We've been trying to get my dad (61 y.o.) to come with us to Disney.
He WANTS to come but has been set back financially and health related.
He has several come and go health issues with his knees, back and hip and
can litterally end his walking thru the parks in an instant and be bed ridden
for several days after recovering. Anyways...TMI...haha He's concered for
his AWFUL snoring (even with nose strips) waking us and our toddler up in
the middle of the night and was wondering about an adjoining room. Do
they offer a small discount for a second room or is still the same price as our
room cost? Just a shot in the dark....thanks in advance.

OH PS!~ How much does it cost to rent one of those ECV's for a day?

Sorry but no same price as your room unless you get a code. No sure about the ECV sorry

Same price. We booked 2 rooms for our family of 7 and pay full price for both rooms. Only time I´ve ever seen discounts given for a second room to the same family was when travelling in Hungary a few years back. There was one hotel we stayed at that offered 50% off the second room if it was neccesary due to family size. Might be more common in the US though.

I would also suggest that because of mobility issues he should rent an ECV
(Electric scooter) from an offsite company.
I have limited mobility and have rented mine from Care Medical (800-741-2282) and Walker Mobility (888-726-6837) in the past. I would recommend either one. The cost is about $30 a day. The ones at the parks cost about $40 a day ( I think) and are bigger and have 4 wheels kinda like a golf cart. They are much harder to steer and to control. If he rents from an offsite rental they will deliver the EVC to bell services at the resort. He can use it to go to the pool, and get around the resort as well as the bus stop.

Almost all the Disney buses are accessible. I love using my EVC it gives me more independence and helps keep my pain to a minimum. If he decides to rent an EVC (which I highly recommend) he can practice using one at a local store such as Wal Mart or Target. Those are a little bigger than the rental ones but the practice will help.

Disney started mainstreaming most of their lines in the late 1990's. Those in WC/EVC will usually enter in the regular line. He will be able to stay in EVC until just before boarding most of the time.
Sometimes the WC/EVC (and upto 5 other members of their paty.may be pulled from the mainstream line part way down so they can board the ride in an accessible area.(*NOTE: they are not being taken to front of the line but rather to another line to wait. EVC's can't climb steps so sometimes they need to take an elevator. Or they may need to board a ride where the riders usually exit in case
they need an accessible vehicle or need the moving sidewalk slowed or stopped so they can board. Also they may need a place to park their their WC/EVC until the ride is over.

Also no guarantee he will be adjoining. If you want the door between the rooms you need to specify connecting.

When you make the second reservation make sure you do a travel with on both of them. That way it is more likely you will at least be beside each other.

Either I'm reading this wrong or there was a typo...what do you mean? I'm sorry I'm new and this is our first trip.

If you booked each room separately you need to do what is called a "travel with" on each reservation. That way they are linked in the system and you are more likely to be beside each other.

You just call reservations with both reservation numbers and tell them to do the travel with on both.

When making your reservations be sure to request connecting rooms and specify that it is due to medical reasons. Also depending on the type of resort that you choose you may want to request a first floor room... Disney was very helpful in assigning me a perfect room when I took my 80 year old mom a few years ago. Have a great trip!!

Thank you everyone for your tips! I just changed our ressis for 1 room at
POFQ to 2 rooms at POP. I did a 'travel with' like the above posters mentioned
and asked for the rooms to be attatched. Our fridge will probably be free
b/c of his pills needing refridgeration. He is also disabled and that will help getting us an attatched room. I orginally called to get a FS at ASmusic which
is what I REALLY wanted but they are all out. Darn it all to heck and back.
And I'm still leary about staying at POP but I don't have a choice b/c of our
budget. I've been reading the grooviest pop thread to help put my mind at
ease. The one plus I've noticed about pop is it's own bus system. Any other
pluses at POP I should know about? Thanks again everyone for your help
