Typically, when do the discount codes get released? I heard Disney either does Free dinning or a room discounts. We've never stayed onsite but would like to see how it is.

When is your trip? Also, discounts don't cover every room type at every resort. It seems that lately, you had to add a park hopper and/or book a preferred room to get most discounts.

I find this chart helps in looking at when past discounts were released to get an idea of upcoming discounts. This does not mean it will be the same each year.

It looks like the 2017 Free Dining was for dates August to December, with some block outs, and the release started in late April.
