discount and preferred rooms at POR

So, as my luck would have it, the new discount isn't available for the preferred rooms at POR during our stay in mid-April. Wondering if anyone has experienced a discount on a room showing up later on after initially it wasn't offered.

If it's an availability issue it's a definite possibility that someone may cancel or change their reservation and open one up for you. It's just a matter of checking at the right time.

I booked a preferred room at POR for May with the spring discount so I think they are included - that means that you have a chance OP - keep checking for one just in case, especially around the 45 day mark (or is it 30 day mark now?) - basically around the time that people have to have their packages either paid for or cancelled.

Booked a river view room with spring discount for $50 less per night. I'll still keep my eyes open for a preferred room.

I got a discount on the preferred POR room during Easter week. Disney offered 20% off, which I booked, but then I re-booked with a PIN for 25% off. So it's $70.50 off each night for our trip. For what it's worth, the preferred room didn't show up as available when I first started checking -- I had to keep checking several times a day until it finally showed up.

I'm looking to book POR preferred room with a discount, but not until October trip. What kind of price a night are you getting now? Can I book now and switch it to a discounted reservation as something comes available?

For the week of my family's stay in April rates are about $250/night. Currently no spring discount available for preferred rooms that week. I booked a river view room with a discount instead. Still a good deal, but not all river view rooms are in the preferred buildings. I will submit a building request with my fingers crossed. Yes, you can book now and as soon as discounts come out call to have it applied to your reservation.

Thanks. Actually we changed from doing a Preferred room and just booked a Garden View room for now in the Fall. I will be looking for those discounts and submit a building request.
