Hello! My cousin and I are having a debate and I thought maybe my imaginary friends here on the dis could help us settle it. She claims that after 6 southern CA residents can get in for a discounted rate like $36. I told her no that they have a special deal on one day admission and park hoppers but no specials like that. I can not find anyhting on the DLR website about her deal. So can my fellow disers help me out? DD and I have only lived in CA for a year and are AP holders but my cousin has lived her all her life so maybe she is remembering a promotion that went on a while ago.

Thanks!

Nope, never heard of it.

Might have been A LONG time ago but that seems doubtful as well. I know Knotts has the discounted admission after 4pm. That's the only park that I know that has anything.

Also a b ig NOPE. You can call Disney to confirm this.

At WDW I know they have discounts for people attending conferences at the Swan/Dolphin so they can get into the parks after 4pm at a discounted rate. Maybe that's the kind of thing she's referring to.

I believe they use to for those who dance at Carnation and such but I don't think they have done it for ages.

Sounds like they're mixing DL up with Knott's. Perhaps there was once a special for a limited time many years ago?

The only way you can get into DL at a discount after 4 pm is to have a convention twilight ticket which is offered with some conventions in the Anaheim area. The cost is $34. Of course, this doesn't just apply to So. Cal residents, so it's probably not what your cousin is referring to.

Your question stirred the cobwebs in the dim, dark recesses of my brain, Tinkerbelle's Mom. The memory had faded, but the cobwebs still contained the word "VIDEOPOLIS".

Sure enough, a quick web search later, I found the following Press Release from 1985:

Disneyland is selling a special "Videopolis Passport Certificate", allowing the holder summer-long entrance to the Park, for $40. The ticket is good after 5:00 p.m. every day of the Park's summer season, from June 22 to Sept. 7, and provides unlimited use of the Park's attractions.

Could this be what your cousin is talking about?
