Good morning, OKW! It is a great day! Time to get started... I have so much planned, I think I will start over at MGM Studios this morning, since the ToTer is calling to me. I know it has been changed a bit and I NEED to KNOW!
WooHoo! Drove over from OKW in about 11 minutes (only 5.5 miles away from OKW... parking lot to parking lot!) I am EARLY so get to park in the first row. Am staying on-property and have AP so no parking fees! I am loving my new voice recorder to take notes with. It is so small and convenient to use! I look back on my written notes... no wonder I stopped after 3.5 pages! Tedious! The weather is very overcast today. Looks like it will start pouring down rain at any minute. The nice thing is, there is a breeze and it is cool without being cold. I wear my jacket just in case. I think this will keep the park from getting too crowded today! The CM's are letting people through the turnstiles early, which is GREAT! I love getting in and having time to wander through the shops before the big RnRC and ToT footrace begins!
After the rope drops, I am in the first group going into the RnRC! But, to make it even better, I stopped first to get a FP for the ToTer! I am through the RnRC in 10 minutes, and have time to make it to the 1st showing of The Little Mermaid at 9:30, but due to a rare "Techno-Glitch"...this show gets cancelled. So off to ToT to await my 9:40 FP time and peek in a few shops along the way
I am totally psyched for ToT! Not for the faint of heart! I love laughing/screaming on this ride! It will really make your day (unless you hate plunging towards the earth for any reason?) I met some fabulous cast members! See Joshua here.. I think I recognize him from WDWIG: Where in the World are You? The other CM had a "Pat" name badge, but that is not her real name!
The 1st show of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Play It" isn't until 11:25 so, I have time for a little breakfast!
*I always wondered what a little coffee and fudge would taste like for breakfast... now I know! (I NEVER do this, so it was all the more fun!)
I do a little people watching with my coffee and fudge for about 40 mins. before going into the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Play It!" attraction. I decide this time my strategy is going to be just push those buttons as fast as I can on the first question where speed seems to be what puts people in the Hot Seat... WELL, wouldn't you know it. FOR a CHANGE, I actually KNEW the answer to this question ("Put these US Presidents in Order from Earliest to most recent!"). And based on the winners seconds (almost 5 secs!) I COULD have been in the HOT SEAT! But, since I pushed the buttons willy nilly, NOT! I even stick around for the 2nd show thinking, I'll try once more. But, I could never get higher than #5 on the top 10 Board. (Sigh! One day....I'm shooting for that "10 pin collection, with the matching ballcap and Polo shirt"!)
After the 1:20 PM showing of The Little Mermaid, I head over to the first show at 2:15 of Beauty and the Beast, which was one of the main reasons I was at MGM. This is a great 20 minute show and since the Hunchback of Notre Dame is no more, really the best show at MGM studios! This particular performance was GREAT! The actors were very animated and in good voice. I pronounced it the best version I had seen to date!
I am now content that I am caught up with MGM (with the exception of the Great Movie Ride... but the posted wait times were 40 minutes, when RnRC was only 5! HUH?? ) Never seen that before! It's usually the other way around!
I am very close to the SWAN and DOLPHIN resorts and I have just been waiting until 3 PM so I can arrive to speak with JAMES who has an excellent reputation of Customer Service. I am planning a little something for the Sigma Delta Sorority. (*Which is a newly formed society from the Swan / Dolphin FAQ thread!) So I will close this segment of the trip report and start again over at the Swan/Dolphin! See ya there!
