Here he is again as Peter Pan (I think this was 2005)
100_0225.jpg

and finally, him wearing his cars shirt I made for Pre-K "moving up" ceremony
100_2637.jpg

I have a DD too with a closet full of custom clothes but believe it or not, I can't find one single picture

EEEK!!! Getting Little ready for school is a BIG pain in my butt. today we got 2 shots and are on our way to register and get new shoes. THEN it's back home to do a bit of cleaning up and THEN hopefully finishing up the elephant dress- though Joanns didn't have any of the fabrics that I am using and I needed extra yardage, we'll see what I come up w/... I want to send her to school in it tomorrow. Also, I wanted to use the easy fit pant pattern BUT didnt' get my prepaid visa loaded and will not be by a computer and printer again. Unless I go to my MIL's....HMMMM.... anyway I think the Rosie Goucho's will do. Pics later-hopefully
...t.

Hi everyone!
It was suggested that I come check out if you can help me. I will be 5 months pregnant for our trip to WDW next month and wanted to wear Disney T-shirts or tanks, but they are no where to be found. Any suggestions??
:welcome:!! I was 5 months pregnant the last time I went to Disney. I hadn't started sewing yet. So, I went to the Disign board and had someone make a design with my name on it, surrounded by Disney characters. Then, I ironed it onto a maternity shirt. I also added, on my belly "Coming June 2006, Sawyer". Here's a picture:
2-2-06MeTessaandMomtreeoflife.jpg

My mom and Tessa also had shirts with their names on them.

If you can sew, you could try appliqueing a Mickey head to a t-shirt. Or, you could buy a maternity pattern and make yourself something out of Disney fabric.

here are a few things I've made, this one's my DS in his pirate costume 2006

How cute! You did a great job on all three outfits! If you find pics of your DD's outfits, we'd love to see them!

Okay, fixed the button hole problem. I don't really know how though.

Anyway, here is a picture of what I was working on.

Picture101.jpg

The bow is weird. I need to work on bow tying.

Emily

I love it, very cute!!!

I finally finished DD9 's (almost 10) birthday outfit. We used Carla's simply sweet pattern. I had to adjust it to her size since the pattern only went up to a size 8. I hope that didnt mean people over 8 won't like to wear it. I think its just a cute pattern for everyone. I would like to say that Carla's pattern was simply amazing!!!! It was 118 pages of glorious info and really good tips. I followed right along lickety split! Great directions!!!:thumbsup2

Ok so here are the final pics. Then I have to wrap it up and give it to her. I told her to act surprised!

IMGP5262.jpg

Cathy, the outfit and your daughter are just ADORABLE!!! Arminda and her (I'm sorry, I can't recall your dauther's name!) are about the same age. Arminda will be 10 on May 7th.

That is so cool. I remember when I was 9 I got to make a Personal Pan Pizza at Pizza Hut with the Girl Scouts and I thought I was all that and a bag of chips.

I love that saying!!!

Hello...I'm so fed up withI'm thinking of not even bothering with it anymore and just sew for the girls. The problem is, is that I have so many ideas, and their closets are full! I love when people offer you VERY low amounts for what you have listed...okay..I worked on this dress for about 20 hours, but sure you can have it for nothing..and hey, let me thrown in free shipping to the other side of the planet...no problem..

There was one of those request things on Etsy the other day, someone wanted someone to make 2 Minnie dresses for around $30!!! Crazy! You do gorgeous work Elisa, you deserve to be paid for it! (and I still think you should start your own store! ;) )

I better put some SCOOT in my BOOT and get my next TR chapter done before people start sending me hate mail!!!! It's been a nutty weekend and I'll get like...five minutes to sit...which makes it hard to TR write! I need free creative space in which to flow and weave...

;)
I can't wait to read it!!!
So I went a little fabric crazy this week and I just thought I'd share what I got.I can't remember off the top of my head the name of the person I'm casing this from but I am making the peasant dress with the pink fabric and then a simply sweet dress over it with the princess and eyelet straps.
004.jpg

Heather is being CASED TWICE or is it three?? ;) times!!! Her head will be so big, she won't be able to fit through her front door! :rotfl2:

Oh, I did make something today. Snuggle prints were $2 at JoAnns today and I found flamingos! Megan likes her little rest mat and Scrappy thinks it's comfy too. Look Teresa, I didn't even make up my bed today!

th_IMG_0417.jpg
Very very cute nap mat!!! What, me? :confused3 I ONLY look at the items that are sewn, I'm not snoopy, no not me! :rotfl2:
Just don't make Ariel's hair with a striped red/white ribbon or else people will keep telling you that it looks like a Pharoah. Not that I have any experience with that...
Aww...that boy is so cute!
I told Tessa that Luke scored his first soccer goal. She started clapping and saying YAY! Then, she said "I'm so proud of him." I asked her if she'd tell him that when she meets him and she said "No, I'd just be shy."

I thought the hair was cool!

Tessa is too cute!!!!

He is, he calls me sweetie pie sometimes too If Luke met Tessa, he would definitely be shy! He gets shy when he sees her pictures! But that's a good thing, right?

You guys should meet up when Heather takes her next trip to visit the in-laws!
OK les filles, I know you can help me with this. I bought a bunch of ribbon today with my DD to make all kinds of hair bows on barrettes. But Michaels didn't have any barrettes except the giant metal ones for adults.

Where can I buy small plastic barrettes with teeth, and if I'm not asking too much - holes to sew the ribbon bows onto it? I looked at walmart but they don't have any either! The only craft store chain we have here is Michaels. I could go to the US to look over there, but I'd have to wait for the weekend, and I want to do it NOW!!

DD has never had a haircut (she just turned 4) and has fine slippery hair just like her Maman. So we need small barrettes with some sort of grips on them. Merci beaucoup les filles, et bonne nuit.

Sally's Beauty supply sells the clips for the bows. They are really cheep, 100 for $5 or something like that. I've heard that if you cut some aquarium airline tubing and put it on the bottom clippy thing of the barrette, it will stay in fine hair really well, or you can put velvet ribbon on the inside of the clips, and that will help grip too. Someone else had another idea on here, but I can't remember what it was!

I got one more outfit finished this weekend, and I even tackled applique with the last of my princess fabric.

DSC00397.jpg

That is really cute!!! I love those fabrics!

found it- Ill try to describe it and see if that helps
How to tie a proper bow (with fully lined ties)
Facing dress, take each tie in opposite hand- left tie in right hand, etc
cross the left tie over the right tie
wrap it under right tie and pull up and to the right gently, but firmly
take right tie (that is now on the left) and form "bent bunny ear"
take left tie (dangling over on right side) and pull down and to left- to wrap around bunny ear, as you come up behind bunny ear pull thru hole and to to the right-adjust and tighten.
So the right tie ends up at the left side of bow and left tie becomes right side of bow.
Got that?
I am actually going to have to do that to understand it!!!

Camping Griswalds had a bow tying technique that went: Right over left, then left over right. It works really well too. (and, if that doesn't work reverse it, left over right, right over left)

This is an outfit using lisazoe's instructions for a corset top...

I love that purse!!! Your daughter looks darling! Youd did a wonderful job on that outfit!!! And, yes, your son is too cute!!!

One time our big clumsy mutt came running through the house with this doxie (named Samson, no less) attached at the ear! It was so funny! Our dog was a little afraid of him, they can be mean when they want to be!

That is TOO funny!!!

I need to get some sewing done, but I'm afraid I am going to be too tempted to read your TR first!!!

I'm sorry, Cindee. I was just confused. I wanted to find the thread because I was confused. I read the thread and I can see that no one was being mean. I misunderstood. I, too, could not imagine why wearing boutique clothing would bother anyone. It seemed so strange.
You didn't say anything wrong. Can you forgive me?

I misunderstood too. I hate when that happens!!! I'm sorry Cindee! and the poster from the other thread too  (sorry don't remember the username)

ok, you know your up to late sewing when you start and realize something isnt right... than you figure out you threaded the needle with the bobbin thread.

Very funny!

On another note, for those of you that pray, remember my FIL tomorrow. He is having prostate surgery. They found cancer in his prostate, so hopefully the surgery will take care of it. Just remember him and my family in your prayers.

Also, remember me and my girls, we are traveling on Tuesday, and I hope we have a safe trip!

Thanks!

Tiff

I hope everything goes well for all of you.

Okay, so I'm pretty new to the whole custom clothing thing but I did want to share with you my quilt that I made for my DH for Christmas a couple of years ago.
I came up with the design and appliques. This was my first quilt ever.
I've done several other Disney appliques but they were for friends and I don't have photos to share.
We are going to Disneyland in December and I'm starting to plan out my projects for our kids. You all do so many beautiful things!

th_MyChristmasQuilt05.jpg

GORGEOUS!!! That is just amazing!!!

It's easy to be misunderstood online. It's no big deal! We don't blame anyone for it!
That is very true.
Do y'all know if there's a YCMT discount available? I'm ordering a ton of patterns and the discount would be great. Thanks!!!!!

I keep looking, but I can't find one. Like Crystal said, the last one I've seen eneded on the 1st.

Hi everyone!

Are you good with bling? You could stick some rhinestones or crstals on a shirt in a Mickey pattern or a carriage. That always looks cute. Heather had a t-shirt made up when she went while pregnant with Sawyer that had her name with the characters in it and then on her belly it said "Coming June 2006: Sawyer" It was really cute. If you check out the photobucket site, there is a section of adult clothes, that might give you some inspiration too!

Congratulations by the way!!!! And, when will you be there? We are going next month too.

WOW...this is beautiful!! You did an amazing job!!

Can Bitty Baby/AG dolls be purchased in stores? Or only online?

Grrr...still waiting to hear from YCMT.com regarding accessing dress pattern- I was not logged in at at time of purchase so its not in my library...and I bought 2 patterns that way- the Dainty Designs one as well...

HeatherSue- the first pattern I posted was the dress LoriB made, then I posted the 4112. Now Im leaning towards the Portrait pattern and doing a top and capri with ruffle- or dress with ruffle.....
I think you mean you like the 4112 pattern...

We have an AG store here in Dallas too.

Heather, that is so cute! What a great idea for a pregnant Mom!

I have to tell you you are on my favorites list and I would have loved to have bought your outfits! I just wish we had a trip planned! I watched your things and can't believe they didn't go for more! Hopefully next time! Have you tried anywhere around you to sell them? Like a boutique or possibly a Junior League mart? Our Junior League in Plano has a holiday mart in Oct/Nov time period and there are vendors that sell custom clothes. They seem to do a good business too.

I better put some SCOOT in my BOOT and get my next TR chapter done before people start sending me hate mail!!!! It's been a nutty weekend and I'll get like...five minutes to sit...which makes it hard to TR write! I need free creative space in which to flow and weave...

Ooh yes, please hurry! I love your trip report! You are a fantastic step mother too!

Wow - this is absolutely amazing!!!!

Hey everyone! Haven't posted in a while, but have been lurking and trying to keep up! I have absolutely loved everything posted! HeatherSue - that peter pan top will most definitely be CASED! Castle's Minnie Sailor, the quilt! Seriously. You guys are putting me to shame. I come here, see all of your latest and greatest creations, get all inspired, go to sew something, then
-whoosh!- all my inspiration is gone, then I just end up making the same old thing, just with different fabric. Ack! I have all these ideas in my head, I just can't always seem to execute them. Whew! glad I got that out!

OK, couple of things -

1) Just so all of your kids know, Ella had decided she is friends with every child on this thread. Anytime she sees a picture of someone, she'll say she likes him or her and they are her friend. Then she won't let me scroll past, she'll just gaze admiringly at her new friend. What a crack-up!

2) This is old news by now, but here is what she ended up with for the Princess on Ice show. The show was so much fun!
princessonice.jpg

3) Is it bad that I'm trying to talk Ella into this birthday party
girliepirateparty.jpg

because I have this fabric?
girliepiratefabric.jpg

I think I may have her *kinda* talked into it, but she's not fully convinced yet. She'll come around. I hope.

Hope everyone's having a great Monday!

Thank-you, Thank-you, thank-you!! There is a Sally's that just opened right near my house (it's a 10 minute walk!!) I haven't even been in there yet it's that new. Thanks so much I'll check it out tonight:goodvibes

Love all the stuff posted so far .. i had another dentist appointment on Fri (One of the many Ones ) so i have been sleeping mostly and slightly taking advantage of some much needed me time  but yesterday i needed no pain assistance:thumbsup2 so i sewed My Camden ;) a button up shirt and a pair of shorts:rolleyes1 he was so excited:banana:   That i finally got them finished (he picked the fabric out in March)
So here it is

I also found this pattern a Gazillion times easier and everything matched up perfectly ... Easy McCalls #3193:goodvibes

I went to Walmart today and they had a ton of dots today!!!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF DOTS!!!!!!!! all colors, purple, blue, pink, red, green and yellow!

All I can see when I look at that picture is it looks like I have a gap between my front teeth, which I don't! :rotfl2:
I didn't notice till you said something.:lmao:
