Sounds CRAZY but it is YUM YUM! Honest! the kids ask all the time if we're having yum yum chicken w/rice!!

SOOOO...who's your friend of a friend who was on the show? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Go check out season ONE, I think it was the 2nd to the last episode....KEEP IN MIND...this was in my previous life and we DO NOT speak of it...EVER!
Also keep in mind that we were just hanging out in the mall one day and NEVER made any attempt or request for ANY Supernanny help!
ALSO keep in mind that we were ASKED SEVERAL TIMES to create instances where SN would need to come in and rescue us!
ALSO keep in mind that Blake is an awesome kid and nothing like he was portrayed as being. HOWEVER, his father is exactly the way he was portrayed, if NOT WORSE.
Was that enough disclaimers? Good lord i can't believe I'm baring myself this way.

REMEMBER...this is just like :wizard: ...we never say it's name...NEVER!!!!!

Hmmm...looks like I'll be turning that one into a crockpot recipe!:thumbsup2 (and preparing brown rice instead of white on the side :rotfl2: )

Blake is an awesome kid. All of your kids are--how is it that they were not even bugging us at bunko? My kids would be climbing all over everyone! Yes, that was not the most exciting episode of :wizard: because the kids were not monsters :confused3 Sweet little Seli was barely even on there! But the funny thing is that when my MIL watched it she said "her husband is an $%%*%#!" :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:  (FYI in case you didn't know, he is no longer her husband!)

gosh thanks! I think they're pretty awesome, mostly! Poor Blaker...hope that experience didn't totally ruin him! Yeah...they did a pretty good portrayal of the Deadbeat....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I don't know what to do to make it better. I just want to sit and cry because I feel like such a failure as a parent. I worry that my neighbors think we beat her all night because she screams as if someone is killing her.

I just wanted to give a few words of encouragment here. My dd used to throw horrible tantrums - 45 minutes to an hour screaming so loud you could hear her on the sidewalk outside our house. I think the only reason no one called CPS on us is becuase the average age on our street is 80.

Anyway, what worked for us was talking with her one day when she was calm and telling her that we were going to start putting her in her room when she was screaming. When she started to throw a tantrum after that, into her room she went (we got daycare to do the same thing). Every 5 minutes or so we would open the door and ask her, in a calm voice, if she was done. If she wasn't she would scream louder (I still don't know how she did this), if she was she would finally start to settle down. When she was calm, we would talk about what started the whole thing and would ask her if she got what she wanted. The answer was always no and eventually she stopped.

She has always been a more difficult child to parent. I have threatened dh that I am going to move out of the house when she hits her teen years :rotfl2: .

If they have the Kaiya Eve ones in stock, they should ship quickly, but the last I knew, Sam's actually made most all of the pettis on the market. So, if they have to be made, it will take months. At least, that's my understanding.

They do look SOOO cute in pictures! She will look gorgeous with one. What color were you thinking of?

How does Kaiya Eve justify their prices when the Sam's website undercuts them by a TON?! Goodness gracious!

gosh I don't know WHAT color I'd get for Sally...I love the pastels...I love the black with the pink...any pinks at all really! I'm just so impatient I don't know if I could wait for 6-8 months for anything!!!

You on tried the tulle tutu or the pettiskirt? Either one look like fun.

Yes, he has kids.
A 5 year old and a 9 year old.
They call me Amber.
No "Miss" to it.
And I'm not going to push that part -
I just want them to quit being such smart rears!
I was whining about something one day and the 9 year old told me to "build a bridge and get over it."

THIS is why I need Miss Cammie advice. But I need to wait til I'm a bit more "official."

Oh man...if one of my step kids sassed me like that...I'd have a Donald moment...that being said, I've been in their lives since they were very small...which made it easier for me to boss them around and bend them to my wicked will! Thank goodness!! Because bossing kids around is my FAVORITE THING! I do it for a living!!!

We tried 1,2,3 Magic which in theory works well for some parents, I'm sure, but we kept saying: "One!....Twoooooooooooo!....thrrrr" because we didn't want to get to 3, and darned if my kids wait for the "r" in "Three" to budge :rotfl2: I especially love listening to parents who use fractions for the same reasons! "2 1/2....2 3/4....You better move mister! 2 7/8......"

Once, while at Disney World, after a loooong whiney day, during a mama meltdown, I said to my kids:"Shape up or I swear I'll spank your bottoms right here in the Happiest Place On Earth in front of Mickey Mouse and ALL these HAPPY people!" But we ended up laughing because I sounded ridiculous.

:rotfl: This absolutely cracks me up too! Parenting with Fractions...doesn't work well!

I tried on the pettiskirt, like the ones in the pictures I posted, except it was purple, my favorite color! Hey, Lydia told me to!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh fun, a 5 and 9 year old, those are the ages of my girls. Doubtful that they will start being smarty pants anytime soon! ;) I am laughing about what the 9 year old said, very funny, not very respectul, but very funny! Good luck, I'm sure you will be a fine evil stepmother! Have you been practicing your eyebrow arch?

TJ is right...a good eyebrow arch is CRUCIAL to proper wicked step parenting! Practicing in the mirror is helpful...:cool2:

Hello!! I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm planning my next cruise! yea me!!! I just have to decide which cruise line to do...my friend recently went on not a Disney cruise ***egad!*** but she had a fabulous time. So we'll see. but so far Disney's prices aren't too bad. If I book the land and sea seperate, I save about 2,000 dollars...keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm going back to planning..:)
Oh yeah, I did sew something yesterday. I made a tee with an applique of the shopping girl, the one available on YCMT. It came out really cute. All she needs is for her eyes to dry and she'll be all done..:rotfl:

YAY!!!! Brent is waiting with open arms!!!

Aww, this makes me really sad. :sad1: My first thought was princess Leia too. I was her for halloween in K and I loved star wars, the hair do and all. I still think it is adorable today. It is ashame that people teased her. Please tell her I love the hair done that way!

Oh I showed her pictures, talked about how GORGEOUS Princess Leia is, how she is all about GIRL POWER...but Sally' wasn't having it...she knows when she is being mocked. That's what was bugging her the most. Mean kid...I'd like to dole out some GIRL POWER on him!

DD had her 5 year old picture taken wearing a petti. She loves it!! Our 2nd one should be here in a month or so.

DS has even tried it on!! ;) (Just for you TJ)

HOw CUTE!!!

I do so hope that you will keep this picture of your son in a pettiskirt and give it to him in a frame on his wedding day!!!:rotfl:

Here is Lydia under the pettis. :rotfl2:
S6300322.JPG.jpg

I thought the same thing about the pettipants!! I guess they are a square dancing thing.

And, you NEED one to go under your Minnie skirt!!!

LOVE the pile of pettis!!! VERY artistic shot!!!

WAIT? All y'all don't wear pettipants on a daily basis?

oh...well, I don't either...I just KNOW some people who do...

*ahem*

Poor SallyRally. That makes me so sad that she would get teased over a cute hairdo.

I have to admit that I did once tell Tessa her hair looked stupid. It was after she cut it herself when she was 3. I wanted to make sure she NEVER did that again and that was the best way to do it! At the time, she thought stupid was the worst word a person could say, so I really got my point across!

:lmao: Teaching your darling Tessa a lesson about self hair styling is NOT mean spirited! I'll bet you got your point across!!

I'm a wicked stepmother too! Isn't it FUN? Especially when their mothers get in on the fun! My heart goes out! You just keep up the good work! You're doing a GREAT job!!! :thumbsup2

Yeah, not a big fan of the British nanny thing. Someday I'll explain and tell you all my deep, dark secrets on that nonsense. It's all a big LIE! :lmao:
Just remember it's TV and it's NOT REAL! Speaking from personal experience here.

Best of luck to ALL OF US parents who are trying our best to raise decent human beings! Being a parent BITES sometimes! ACK!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes Good to know I"m not the only one here in the Wicked Stepmother club!!! Oh yeah...it's fun...I'm thankful for Xanax on a daily basis...

JUST KIDDING...sort of...;)

I don't think that people realize that MOST children will behave for someone like Jo Frost. She's novel to the environment and she asserts herself as an authority figure immediately. The reality happens when she leaves and the cameras are gone.. I'm going to bet that A LOT of those families went back to chaos pretty soon after Jo left.

I will admit though that I watch that show and my husband and I set up behavior plans to the television! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Here you are Luke! I know you're all just dying to see pictures of Tessa's birthday party from a few weeks ago. So, I'll post a bunch of them!

The cake. It didn't turn out as planned. I made up a batch of the marshmallow fondant and it went horribly wrong. I couldn't roll the stuff out and I couldn't mix the coloring into it. I tried heating it up to make it more pliable, but it was still too stiff. So, I resorted to my old standby- whipped cream and pudding frosting with chocolate chip embellishments.

Here's the whole gang. We had the cake and presents in the food court of the mall. This is Lydia, Arminda, Casey, Tessa, and Courtney. This was a "cousin's only" party!:

This was so neat to see!!! Sally and Teddy are having a party at Build-a-bear next Saturday! They are so excited!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!!:goodvibes

Did Tessa get an "autograph bear"? That is included in our party price. I'm just not sure what it is...I'm assuming a bear that can be signed?

How CUTE that your little one wanted to put so many hearts in his bear! Feeling the love!!!

I sewed something this week, I didn't just goof around and post totally off-topic pictures!
Here's Sawyer's Buzz Lightyear shirt. He actually likes it! He kept pointing to the Buzz's on it and smiling and hugging the shirt. I don't think he's ever watched Toy Story, but he likes Buzz, apparently.

Okay. So I said I was going to LOOK at hancocks. Big Mistake! I spent $40, which isn't too bad, but I wanted soooooo much more. I can't believe the fabrics they had. I was there last August and they had nothing. Well, there was at least 7-8 other Disney patterns that I wanted. It was all 30% off and I got a 10% educator discount. So, here is what I got.:woohoo:

I am in trouble!:guilty:

I love that first Mickey one and the Pooh one!! So pretty!

I was looking at the petti colors, I think all the mamas need gold lame pettiskirts, we can start a whole new disco movement! :rotfl:

I've spent part of last night and this morning ironing the mountain of prewashed fabric that was cluttering up my dining room. I should have that all put away here within the half hour.

We're supposed to be going out to dinner tonight for our anniversary to a new Indian Tandoori restaurant. My English husband is practically weak in the knees hoping that they have good curry since "no one here in the states makes really good curry." Should be interesting, the menu looks good, so I'll be off to try new things.

I'll pop back in later today.

Thanks again everyone for all the support and advice.

I agree, we all need those gold ones!!! :rotfl2:

Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you have a good one!

I must say! That is the best looking group of kids I have ever seen!!! ;) I hadn't seen these pictures yet, thanks for posting these Heather!!! Tessa looks so darling in her Hello Kitty dress!

It is 1 here and all my kids except for Mayson are asleep still:eek: it is too quiet in my house to wake them up but i should :confused3 we had a long night starting with my panic attack at 4 in the morning and checking on my kids about a hundred times . We had a home Invasion in our neighborhood 4 wks ago which included police in my back yard while we were sleeping..
so every little sound i hear i freak out .. My dog was barking inside, so i immediately just turned on every light in my house up and down and also outside . :rolleyes1 while DH just slept through it all :scared1: he used to be a marine :rolleyes1 my back yard is the worst I am just going to have to put a huge spotlight in the back yard it is too dark .....
after about 4 hrs i finally turned them off :scared1: and was able to sleep then had to wake up at 9 for Mayson
But Dh wasn't as clueless as i thought , he knows me so he let me have my freak out moment and in my fridge this morning was a Diet wild cherry pepsi
Anyways sorry to ramble on ...
I am going to clean and then do some sewing ..;)

How scary!! What a nice hubby you have!

That is a great looking group of children! Tessa looks cute in her hello kitty dress! Looks like everyone had fun! Even Corey! He is soo cute Teresa! You guys have some beautiful kids!

Oh I KNOW! She's got great ideas! The Naughty Circle and SNack Jars did wonders for us too! Now that I know what I know..I just wonder how naughty those kids really are! hehe:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think I need to work on my accent...maybe that would help!

Here he is "modeling" it. It's nearly impossibe to get a picture of him when he's not up and running, so this is the best I could do! He just finished making a mess of his sister's room and he thinks he's pretty funny.

That looks great Heather!!! And Sawyer is so cute!!!! So cool that you matched up the fabric in the front!!!

I had to look twice when I saw his extra limb, then I realized it was "Jada"!

COOL!!!! BAB parties are the BEST! The cousins are stinkin' cute!

That's one adorable video dude too. :cool2:

Oh my gosh!! You were on Super Nanny!!! Do they have these episodes online?? I couldn't stand to be on that show! You must tell us more!

Thanks for the "I didn't win a purse" sympathy everyone :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh, do tell! ;) I have a certain piece of videotape somewhere around here...

And I lost the photo of Lydia in the pile o' pettiskirts! That looks so fun! Now I want one in every color!!

I think that video should start making the disboutiquer rounds, starting with me and Heather! ;)

Aren't those pettis scrumtious!!! (Does that remind anyone else of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?)

Hmmm...looks like I'll be turning that one into a crockpot recipe!:thumbsup2 (and preparing brown rice instead of white on the side :rotfl2: )

LOL I would have been really surprised if you walked out of there without buying any fabric! Now I can't wait to see what you make with them..>I have teh same Pooh Bear fabric..it was on clearance at my Joanns when I bought them.

I found a pair of cute sheets to practice on. When I do a new pattern for the first time I am always nervous. Do you have some old sheets, or a thrift store that you can buy a cheap pair?

hmmm don't have any cool sheets but do have 6 large containers full of fabric (60litre bins - not sure about what that is in gallons - someone can work it out). :teacher: I will be brave I will be brave

You sound eerily like my sister. She likes to caress her fabric, too. :confused3 But, you must just GO FOR IT!!! You will make something fabulous with it and that will be much more beautiful than a pile of fabric sitting there folded all pretty!
My problem is I buy fabric because I love it - I'm not sure if there is any I have bought just because.. iykwim?? I'm scared of not doing it justice and making it into something it deserves to be. The other thing is I have lots of money "invested" in this fabric :rolleyes1 I'd hate to ruin it. I am very emotionally attached to my fabric

Barbara update:I took Barbara to the oncologist for a 2nd opinion this week. He was of the same opinion as the surgeon that she should have a full mastectomy. They are going to also take out one of her lymph nodes to test it for cancerous cells. If that one is clear, they will assume the others are, too. They aren't sure if it's just a ductal carcinoma, or if it is a more invasive cancer mixed in with a ductal carcinoma. It's a very large tumor (5cm), so they werne't able to test the whole thing with the needle biopsy. We are praying that it's just the ductal carcinoma and they will be able to remove it with no further problems. They are going to schedule the surgery for AFTER our Disney trip! So, that was great news! Barbara is still upbeat about everything. She has the attitude of "what happens, happens". She knows there's nothing she can do about it, so she just goes with the flow. Thanks again for all your prayers!!

 been thinking of you all

:lmao: :rotfl2: I thought the whole elastic part was ribbon... Although adding some ribbon on the flowy part would be pretty.

You could do that :) there is no right way - I like to use the elastic so it fits a bit snugger and a larger range of sizes (if I make em size then it stretches to Izzy size - saves me making 2 ;) )

I order them from Sam's, and they take 6-8 months to arrive. Let me know if you (you being anyone here)wants
me to order one for you. They run about $24 + plus shipping.

Sam's website is here: http://www.samsmfg.com/

These are the Kaiya Eve ones on this site, but they are the same, they just have better pictuers!
http://www.pettiskirtplace.com/kaiya_eve.html
And the Belle Ame ones, which are also the same:
http://www.buttercupsboutique.com/cat_belle.cfm

I want one (or 5 ) hmmmmmmm I wonder what the shipping would be to NZ? I've tried finding the nylon chiffon here with no luck :( I have lingere fabric which I'll have a go (one day) wow those kaiya eve ones are soooooo expensive  She'd have to wear it everyday for 5 years lol ;)

:lmao: :rotfl: looks like fun :)

Sawyer putting in hearts number 18 and 19 of 135 hearts in his chicken.
Seriously, the kid put at least 30 hearts in his bear, and his daddy let him!:

Aunt Barbara stuffing Sawyer's bear for him (he didn't want to) and handing it to him:

build a bear looks like soooo much fun - another thing we must do on our trip :)

And the spongebob cake is too cute - Izzy loves "bumbob"

I sewed something this week, I didn't just goof around and post totally off-topic pictures!

Here's Sawyer's Buzz Lightyear shirt. He actually likes it! He kept pointing to the Buzz's on it and smiling and hugging the shirt. I don't think he's ever watched Toy Story, but he likes Buzz, apparently.

Gorgeous :goodvibes

I was going to try to whip some up- has anyone done it before? (I'm all for taking advice/suggestions over more trial and error :))

1.)How does Kaiya Eve justify their prices when the Sam's website undercuts them by a TON?! Goodness gracious!

2.)gosh I don't know WHAT color I'd get for Sally...I love the pastels...I love the black with the pink...any pinks at all really! I'm just so impatient I don't know if I could wait for 6-8 months for anything!!!

3.)TJ is right...a good eyebrow arch is CRUCIAL to proper wicked step parenting! Practicing in the mirror is helpful...:cool2:

4.)I do so hope that you will keep this picture of your son in a pettiskirt and give it to him in a frame on his wedding day!!!:rotfl:

5.)LOVE the pile of pettis!!! VERY artistic shot!!!

6.)WAIT? All y'all don't wear pettipants on a daily basis?

oh...well, I don't either...I just KNOW some people who do...

*ahem*
1.) I don't know! I guess it's that ribbon they add on that cost so much! They were getting theirs right from Sam's. (Apparently, they forgot to take the Sam's tags out of them once, and people found out!) Of course, Kaiy Eve has them in stock, so that's a big plus.
2.)I konw, 6-8 months is a long time! But, if you try not to think about it, it's not so bad!
3.)I need to practice that arch myself!! I had "the voice" down good when I worked at the daycare, but it is not nearly effective on my own kids!
4.)That is TRULY wicked!
5.)Thanks, Corey took that picture, of course!
6.):rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
This was so neat to see!!! Sally and Teddy are having a party at Build-a-bear next Saturday! They are so excited!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!!:goodvibes

Did Tessa get an "autograph bear"? That is included in our party price. I'm just not sure what it is...I'm assuming a bear that can be signed?

How CUTE that your little one wanted to put so many hearts in his bear! Feeling the love!!!

Tessa got the autograph bear, but from what Brian told me, they didn't have the kids sign it at the party? :confused3 The lady was less than friendly apparently!

Yum Yum Chicken (courtesy of SIL Julie--who also DIDN'T win a purse!)
1 1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Honey Mustard
1/2 C. Ketchup
1 T. Worstesershire Sauce
1/2 t. salt
3/4 C. Water
2 lbs. chicken strips

Mix all ingredients together...Pour into baking dish and bake at 325 for one hour COVERED, bake another 30 minutes UNcovered.
Prepare white rice as side...

1. First of all, thank you for the recipe! We'll make it tonight.
2. HOLY COW! Ok, I'm cool. Mums the word.
3. WHUUUUUT! Sorry, I'm not cool. I'm going to go a little bit of Nancy Drew sleuthing (google)
4. I LOVE YOU!!! (dork!) :rotfl2:

WOW!!! We have a real-live "reality" tv star in our presence!!! I can't wait until we dig up this episode! I'm sure I've seen it because I watched every episode that first season!

Thanks for the yummy sounding recipe!!

Wonderful shirt! I love how you matched the fabric in the front!!! How'd you do that?

UMTerp
I have no idea!

OMG she did! :worship: :worship: :worship:
It was a complete accident!! I didn't even notice until I took the picture!

Yep, we got an autograph bear, but I didn't know it until we got home and saw it in her box! Like Teresa said, they were pretty bad BAB party people. It's a yellow bear that comes with a marker that the kids can sign it with.

Doesn't Kaiya Eve claim they make the pettis themselves?

ACK! Is there a blushing smiley around here? HOLY COW! PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE ME BASED ON THIS ONE, HORRIFIC, POOR DECISION!!!! Okay, in all honesty, it was a BLAST! We seriously had sooooo much fun! And it
was fascinating watching a TV show being filmed...in my house....WEIRD! But seriously...it was all for fun and all for laughs and in ways I regret it, but, at the time (in the midst of a divorce, hello!) the kids and I needed something and why not air your dirty laundry in front of 8 million people? That's my theory! My poor DH...I always tell him, "at least it wasn't "GIrls Gone Wild" or something like that!!!

Let me know if you guys like the recipe! My kids request it DAILY!

No star over here, I've dyed my hair and assumed a new name to avoid the paparazzi....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
