DISboards' Constant Shockwave Plugin Crashes?

What is the deal with these incessant Shockwave Plugin crashes when I'm on the DISboards? I've tried using other browsers to no avail. It is now virtually impossible to navigate and post because the browser crashes and asks you to reload every 20 seconds.

Is there anything I can do to get around this? Add some other sort of plugin to my browser? Disable Shockwave just for the DIS somehow?

Did this just recently start for you? Many of us were having issues with the boards since the addition of the video ads. Installing an ad blocker worked for me.

Had the same issue, installed the free Adblock Plus day before yesterday, and it's worked great since.

Cool! As I was checking my browser plug-ins, I discovered that I didn't have the latest version of Google Chrome Installed. (Which is weird—I thought the browser updated automatically!). So far I haven't had any crashes in Chrome since I updated, but I'll check out AdBlock plus for my other browsers.

I installed Ad Block Plus this afternoon. Seems to be working. Fingers crossed.

An update...since installing Ad Block Plus not only have the many ads disappeared but so has the annoying 'Leave page alert'. In fact most of the web pages I visit seem to load much faster! Thank you for the tip!

An update to my update...Ad Blocker Plus prevents me from accessing the 'My Vacation' page in the DVC website despite telling Ad Blocker to allow. If I turn Ad Blocker off I can get in. So, if you experience similar problems, try turning Ad Blocker off for a bit. BUT, overall, I LOVE IT!!
