Well there is no complete set of details but here is a pretty consciese way that most people run their exchanges.
1) Exchanges are open to Anyone except if the say Children only.
2) There is such a wide variety of exchanges we the hosts run every year, that I'm sure anyone can find one that meets their interests, when that happens you follow these simple rules:
a. Read the instructions given by the host to make sure you can fully comply
with what is expected of you as the exchanger.
b. Send a PM to the host with the information he/she requested. That does
include EMAIL address, that is so if that can't reach you via PM they have
another way of reaching you.
c. When the exchange sign up's close, that date is listed in the main thread,
the host will PM you. He/she will give you the name of the person(s) you are
to send to.
d. Once you get that information, go shopping and enjoy getting treasures for
your person.
e. Make sure to mail your package off by the mail by date, that is VERY!!!
important. If you cannot do this either let the host know.
3) As to who sends to you and who you send to, that all depends on the host. Most hosts if at all possible will have you send to someone other than who is sending the package to you. There are instances where you will be sending to the person sending to you but for the most part, it doesn't happen often.
4) Also make sure to note the money minimum/maximum. Sometimes, espically on Yankee candles, the minimum is higher than the normal exchanges.
5) These exchanges are meant to be fun, never meant to hurt others. Enjoy yourself but treat others the way you would wish to be treated.
I hope this all makes sense to you. There are numerous hosts around here so any of us would be glad to answer questions.
