All I can say is "God bless Ava"! :goodvibes Today I was checking to see if we could add a cash day onto our Labor Day weekend trip to HHI and while I was on the phone with Ava she told me that I still had all 200 of my 2009 points to use before the end of September. I was shocked since they were supposed to have been banked and applied to our November 2010 SSR trip that I booked last January. Apparently instead of banking and using our 2009 points, the Member Services CM (whom I can't remember, I usually write down all names but for some reason I didn't at the time) left our 2009 points alone, used all our 2010 points and then BORROWED from our 2011 points to make up the difference. YIKES! Thankfully, Ava was great and put me on hold while they straightened it all out. I do check our account activity pretty closely, but somehow I missed what happened. I am SO glad she caught it and was able to fix it. I feel sick when I think about how close we were to losing 200 points! So, the moral of the story is: pay attention folks! Make sure all your points are coming from the right place when you make your reservations! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately this is a common occurrence. The more points and contracts that you have the greater chance for MS mistakes.

I second Ellester's advice. Check your points. :thumbsup2

I agree. Always check your points and ask many questions when making reservations. Make sure the cast member is taking points from where you want to take points from. As good as they are, sometimes mistakes are made, so just double check them. :thumbsup2

What to do?

My online points record is "off"...I called MS and their records show the same number of points I think I have...they told me I need not worry about dvcmember.com's records being incorrect...

I don't know what else to do (if anything). There are many reports of inaccurate info given out by MS, and now I'm told the online record may or may not be correct but I shouldn't worry about it.

Sigh...

Does anyone know of a "definitive" source for checking points?

Thanks...

Ellester, glad you caught that!

Just in case you don't know, you can bank your points online. I did it, and it's an immediate transaction, the change happens right there. I was much happier doing it that way, rather than relying on the CM to do it.

What????? Shouldn't they fix that discrepancy? Did you get written confirmation on the points?

As far as I know the definitive source for checking points is the MS website and/or calling MS. And if they don't agree, why not? And why are they not reporting the error so it can be fixed?

Be careful there too. One year on the website it looked like it worked but it didn't and, I like Ellester, only found out because I called to book a stay and the CM told me. Luckily it was in time.

Whenever there is a new transaction like booking a stay or banking I set up an event in outlook for 2 weeks later to review. I give it a couple of weeks in case they void the transaction for some reason and re-enter. I am not sure they have ever done that but as long as I am not near my bank window I feel comfortable waiting. Probably 48 hours is enough but I have used this system since the incident so I will just stick with it.
