I know this has probably been talked about to death, but we FINALLY made it down to WDW since the renovation to Spaceship Earth. How disappointing! This was always my favorite attraction, and my favorite part of it was spiraling backwards down to Earth through the tunnel of magical lights and the web of little sparkley lights. These are all gone, gone, gone, and what was once a magical ending has been replaced with an interactive video game. Interactive electronics are all over the place; why couldn't they have left them out of Spaceship Earth? I am so disappointed and sad that my favorite attraction is no longer! It really made me want to cry. Even my kid is disappointed.

I don't like it either. I also really miss Jeremy Irons doing the narration. I still enjoy it but nothing like I used to, even though I know most think its better! Glad I'm not alone.

Ya I know what your talking about, but I think they were getting a lot of feed back about how boring It was and It lost Its Intrest with a lot of folks?. Well It may not be your favorit anymore but you can learn to find new things to enjoy and look forward to? but I am so sorry to here how bumed you and your family were:sad2:,nothing worse but to have somthing you love to see,up and go away.

We enjoyed the new version very much.

Especially after reading all of the threads about how disappointing the new refurb was. Very pleasantly surprised.

We have enjoyed all the versions of SE over the years.

For me, its mostly a Jeremy Irons thing. Ahhh, I love that voice!;) I do think it flows better and my kids love that interactive thing at the end.

I'm sorry you don't like the new ending. I love the interactive ending. I liked the light tunnel too, but it always seemed a little amature to me.

Hmmm, I thought the interactive part was kind of neat...

I'd much rather see attractions like this get minor face lifts than get completely removed, especially when the changes don't really detract much from the overall experience. No, it's not the same, but they need to keep things fresh and interesting.

I'm sorry the changes didn't appeal to you. I worried that I wouldn't like them either since I truly loved the old version. But I found the technology used in the new version is enjoyable. I laughed so hard when I saw my daughter and my pictures pasted onto the animated bodies. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be funny, but we enjoyed it.
Better to update a ride than to remove it entirely.

I have never ridden the ride but I know what you mean from other attractions at other parks adn museums I have been to.

My wife and I like video games about as much as we like sports WE DONT AT ALL!

This is why we dont even CARE to ride TSM! We didnt care for the movie so make a ride about a movie we dont care for and then make it a giant video game? I think we will pass! We will ride spaceship earth but when teh interactive part starts we will probably just sit there adn wait for it to end.

I think the interactive end is hilarious! It makes me giggle because our pictures always end up looking unintentionally ridiculous (I'm definitely not known for being photogenic!). It is a little disappointing that I lost one of my napping rides, though.

I disagree 100%! My most hated part was spiraling backwards and looking at a couple of cheap neon lights and some fiber optics listening to them plug AT&T. SSE was just an average attraction for me before the refurb, now it is a must ride! I especially love the Judy Dench narration much more!

I never experianced the old version of spaceship earth, but i bet it was awesome in its own way. The ending always makes me and my wife laugh!!

We loved the ending (but we are newbies and had never experienced the other one). Our 3.5 DD LOVED the ending, she was laughing really hard at pictures of her and her daddy! It was great!!

I wouldn't call the new SSE a video game. Not anywhere near to that amount of interactivity.

Why don't you just try it? :confused3 Seems a bit silly to just sit there when it just asks you a couple of questions then makes them into a funny photo :confused3 JMHO

I think the pre-Jeremy Irons narration was the best, but the Judi Dench one is OK. A Bit more dumbed-down for the little kiddies, I think, but not too horrible.
I like the interactive screens at the end, but I wish they played Tomorrow's Child (perhaps an instrumental version?) in the background as you descend.

I rode SE for the first time last week and I loved it! Especially at the end where it had the video of me and my 18 month old son riding a surf board :rotfl2: . I don't know what the ride was like before the refurb but I have to say this is my favorite at Epcot. Also I remember going backwards and looking at all the little lights at the end when we rode it last week , was it something different you all are talking about?

Overall I like the ride but I do miss Jeremy Irons' narration. I got to use to his voice and it's hard to switch. The ride photos are pretty funny so I'm glad the ride was updated.

We haven't been on the new version yet. Do you not go backwards at all anyomore or did they just take the "stars" away?
