Didn't know that if you cancel your reservation Disney Visa will not give your points back to your rewards card. Lesson Learned!

I was already disappointed with them because since we got it we have NEVER been offered a discount any SOONER/BETTER than the public discounts offered. That's one of the reasons we got it.:sad2:

Probably will cancel after this trip.

That is one reason that I always, I mean always convert my points to a Disney Gift Card before spending.

I thought they would put the rewards points back on the card so thanks for sharing this info. Definitely good to know.

Sorry to hear about that. Did you use the reward credit to pay for your trip???
WDW did allow the Disney Visa customers to book Free Dining package one week earlier than the general public for this summer... I also enjoy the Visa M&G at HS and Epcot. the 6 months 0% interest financing offer is awesome too.

Sorry I'm lost. You mean if you use your points to purchase a trip if you cancel that trip they won't refund the points? That DOES stink! I had no idea.

I always just converted it over to a gift card and bought dinners and food while there.

If it were me I wouldn't let that go. Id call customer service. Beg, plead, cry, and throw myself on the mercy of the court until they let me have them back.

I had only used the points to pay for some ($60) of a 1 night reservation I had to make because that night was not available at the resort we were staying for the rest of our trip. When that night became available I switched so we would not have to move. When I asked the castmember about the cancellation they said it would go back to the cards used (the rewards and my debit) since it was a different reservation number. When I never saw it on the rewards, I checked the "fine-print" and it says it in there. Not a really big loss but still $60.

We have always just used the points before at check-in or at restaurants. As I said before, lesson learned. :(

We never do FD and the M&G isn't that much to us since we usually do the character thing at Epcot when the kids go with us.

I'm still not sure I'm getting much from having it.

so Disney shorted you $60 on your refund? You should call and demand they give you that $60 back. They didn't by mistake apply it to the other reservation?

I did this a few months ago - we had originally planned to do US/WDW and then a shorter WDW in Feb. Feb got long so we dropped the split reservation for Oct. Points refunded to my rewards card no problem...less than a week I think.

But - Disney refunded the points to my rewards card, I'm not sure what Visa would have to do with your refund from Disney?

I'm not following this.

When you earn points on the card, those points have to be put on a Disney rewards card to be used. A refund would go back to the Disney rewards card as all payments go back to the original form of payment. You should have those funds available on your rewards card. Nothing goes back to the Visa card you earned the points from.

I've cancelled several vacations and they've always put my reward points back on the card. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, but it's always there. I'd call and verify.
